I have a deep fear of being known BUT I have a slightly larger fear of being forgotten. the best solution I can come up with is making art every once in a while
having two pieces of media playing at the same time isn't enough anymore I need to be held
Sorry but I’m still thinking about the fact that Percy, a twelve year old boy, picked up on the subtle manipulation tactics of Gabe’s abuse faster than a lot you grown adults. This line keeps playing over and over in my head every time I see one of these insane “He WaSnT AbUSiVe EnoUgH” posts
Hi! I don't have a horse in this race, but doesn't *subtle* manipulation, as you yourself classify it, mean those posts are right - that he wasn't abusive *enough*? It's been some years since I've read the books, admittedly, but I seem to recall Gabe's abuse in it was anything but *subtle*.
Sweetie I hope you and the others who feel this way reevaluate the relationships in their own life because i worry about y’all
I also would kindly request the people who “haven’t read the books in years” not participate in book-to-series discourse? If you’re admitting you don’t remember….maybe recognize you’re not the person to comment here?
And lastly “subtle” was probably a poor choice of words, thank you for pointing that out. My end point was that this is a very realistic depiction of abuse where smaller incidents are actually huge indicators of said abuse.
But I think it’s also worth noting that a book for kids written over a decade ago didn’t expect them to be able to recognize a bad relationship if it wasn’t extreme shouting all the time. Now, the writers in the room know kids do in fact recognize these things when they are in an abusive household. So Gabe didn’t need to be an overdramatized ogre for Percy and other kids to recognize that he is not a good guy. It just worries me how many grown viewers aren’t picking up on that and genuinely think it’s okay and appropriate for them to say:
I wish I’d seen Sally Jackson abused more aggressively
Because seriously wtf

why is your cat green?
She’s built different 😌
Look i tried to laugh it off, but I haven’t stopped thinking about this message because… my cat literally isn’t green
like where is the green
Oh Christ
This is the color your cat is
colors i eyedropped directly from op's cat
I drew a tree using only colours eyedropped from OP's cat.
every time i see this post all i see is some green alien kitty with antennae so i had to draw it
I originally thought those were supposed to be mushrooms, implying that this cat is moldy
Moldy forest cat
i'm happy y'all made fan art of my cat. i tried to show her and she just rubbed her face on my phone
Pet your cat OP, 50% shot it helps.
the first time I reblogged this, like a few weeks ago, it had like 4,000 notes. why do people keep insisting tumblr is dead
i had a DREAM about the green cat last night. not sure what she was up to but. nice to meet her :)
GREEN CAT IS BACK ON MY DAAAAAASH

Wishing everyone who thinks gender neutral bathrooms are scary or an impossible to execute fantasy a very Literally Just Go Visit An Alamo Drafthouse.
Transphobes: "gender neutral bathrooms will never work what a horrible idea!"
Alamo Drafthouse:
[ID= two photos and one floor plan of an Alamo Drafthouse bathroom. The first photo looks down the length of the bathroom with multiple single person stalls with floor to ceiling doors on the left, and a row of sinks on the right. The second shows a sign that says "urinals" on top with simplified symbols of a urinal on other side of the word and "toilets" below with simplified toilet symbols on either side of the word. To the left of the sign is a door with the urinal symbol, and to the right is a door with the toilet symbol. The floor plan shows the same row of 11 single stalls toilets across from a row of sinks as was visible in the first picture, as well as a larger bathroom at the end of the row, two family / accessible bathrooms in another area behind the sinks, a connected but somewhat seperate room for urinals on the upper left, and a large entryway on the lower left. /end ID]
If u think this scary or impractical I think that's like legitimately just a You problem.
I think this is scary because, as a female, a toilet is a safe space where I can run from threatening or dangerous men (For example). In a gender neutral bathroom, this space is violated - and this man can follow me inside and catch me alone. Do you understand what I’m trying to say?
Hello tumblr user and follower of mine Wanda and Nats Wifey. Have you been following me long? I ask because I'm very openly and aggressively against the gender and sex essentialism involved in the statement you just made.
Anyway, I would hope you can feel safer in the above enclosed stalls than more common ones like these:
If you don't, seeing as it's objectively much easier to violate someone's personal space in the latter example that is very very common in modern designs of gendered bathrooms, I would say that is - as OP suggested - a you problem, and I hope you can overcome this fear soon.
(Obligatory note at the end for people to please not harass the person I'm responding to ty.)
I understand your point - I’m not saying you’re wrong but I merely raise another point, would it not be more eye-catching/worrying if a man went into a woman’s bathroom then if he went into a neutral one?
Again repeating the fact that I’m just saying that I would feel less safe if there was no female only bathroom in a crowded establishment. I am not saying it doesn’t WORK per se or that it ISN’T a me problem but maybe other people agree.
I do not push any of my opinions on you nor say I am the only correct one here but maybe keep an open mind to other people’s opinions/preferences on safety.
[ID= photo of the inside of a standard gendered bathroom, with doors and barriers between the stalls that do not extend all the way from floor to ceiling and have large gaps above and below /end ID]
Hey there I'm OP and a trans person who has literally been chased into a bathroom by cis men on multiple occasions. It's a scary experience. Here's the thing. No one stopped them. You know what did stop them? A door slammed in their face when I was lucky enough that it was a single stall bathroom that had an actual door. And do you know why they chased and harassed me in the first place? Because I was visibly trans and gender nonconforming and they either didn't approve of that in general or didn't approve of me entering a gendered bathroom (when there literally was no other option). This is not a unique experience, and harms cis women as well. You might remember the viral video from a few years back where a male cop chased a cis woman with short hair and baggy clothes into the bathroom and proceeded to interrogate her about her body, demand ID, yell at her and her friends, and try to drag her out of the bathroom when she refused. Others have spoken about similar experiences every time we have this discussion again and again. The idea that we should enforce who enters what bathroom does not prevent men from entering the women's restroom, they just use that as an excuse instead to harass the most vulnerable (trans women, gnc women, intersex women, trans people who are not women but do not pass as men / do not feel safe in the men's bathroom, as well as women of color who racist white people sometimes perceive as "more masculine" due to racist white standards of femininity and beauty).
I'm sorry to say but the fact that you think it's safer to live in a world where the general public or the police feels entitled to control who enters a bathroom and chasing after them if they are not performing femininity to their satisfaction and relying on that arbitrary enforcement alone than to live in a world where people don't do that and bathroom stalls have actual physical walls and doors to protect you is a you problem and not grounded in reality. That or you simply do not care because you'd rather you as a cis woman be able to use the enforcement of gender roles as a shield because that makes you feel safe regardless of if it harms other women and gender minorities or if it actually even truly protects you. A door will protect you more than a cop or a stranger who decides they have the right to decide who gets to pee where based on how they look.

Hilda by Duane Bryers
More Hilda!!
in this family we love and support Hilda.
Yes! Hilda!
What i love about this artist’s depictions of women is even the sexualized ones the woman is always genuinely happy and enjoying herself. Frolicking or making funny faces, she’s living her life and looking sexy while doing it, not sitting in a sexual pose for the audience’s view.
I always forget about Hilda and am so pleased when she randomly shows up on my dash. Always makes my day
I love Hilda so much and I want her to be happy
My favorite thing is how Hilda is always doing something and having a BLAST! She’s not posing coyly for anyone, she’s having her own adventures and it’s not about the viewer at all
Always reblog Hilda!
just wanted to leave one of my favorite tweets from last year here
