I found some pictures of the process :D
So here's a (kinda(?) tutorial
Primero que nada, mis referencias fueron principalmente estas imágenes
(First of all, my references were mainly these images)
Para la base básicamente hice una máscara base con papel y pegamento, y luego de que secó la corté los sobrantes. Como consejo, la mejor opción para esto es usar papel craft y pegamento para madera diluido en agua, hasta ahora son los materiales que dan más dureza a mis trabajos con papel.
Hubo partes, (específicamente en la nariz y las cejas) en las que agregué pasta de papel para dar más volúmen.
En todo esto usé como base esta cabeza para máscaras que tenía.
(For the base, I basically made a basic mask with paper and glue, and after it dried, I trimmed off the excess. As a tip, the best option for this is to use craft paper and wood glue diluted with water; so far, these are the materials that give my paper projects the most durability.
There were parts (specifically the nose and eyebrows) where I used paper mache to give them more volume.)
Luego cubrí y rellené hendiduras con pasta para resanar madera. Lo bueno de esta pasta es que deja lijar para que quede más prolijo todo.
(No voy a postear mi cara, tomen un Ezio en su lugar lol)
(Then I covered and filled the cracks with wood filler. The good thing about this filler is that it allows you to sand it for a neater finish.)
Ya lijada le di tres capas con gesso y una esponja, este sirve como imprimatura, lo que permite lijar aún más fino y que la máscara agarre mejor la pintura.
(Once sanded, I gave it three coats with gesso and a sponge; this serves as a primer, allowing for even finer sanding and better paint adhesion to the mask.)
Luego dibujé los detalles estos de la máscara. Hice lo que pude para interpretar los detalles estos con las pocas fotos que hay en relativamente buena calidad :,v jsjs sufrí
Y ya para dar el relieve le pasé plastilita con un pincel, pero tal vez también funcione la pintura esta que usan para relieve.
(Then I drew these details of the mask. I did my best to interpret these details using the reference photos I posted above.
And to add the relief, I applied modeling clay with a brush, but perhaps puffy paint would also work.)
Ya este paso solo es pintar con acrílico. La parte de arriba primero la pinté con tinta negra y luego le pasé una mano de pintura metálica con una esponja. Lo ideal es hacer esto con esponja porque queda más parejo.
La parte de abajo estuve revolviendo pintura café de varios tonos, y la aplicación fue en pinceladas sueltas para darle este efecto como de veta de madera que tiene la máscara. Le agregué más detalles con lápices de colores.
Y al final sellé con sellador barniz toda la máscara, lo que le dio cierto brillo :D
(This next step is just painting with acrylics. I first painted the top part with black ink and then applied a coat of metallic paint with a sponge. It's best to do this with a sponge because it gives a more even finish.
For the bottom part, I mixed various shades of brown paint and applied it with loose brushstrokes to give it the wood grain effect that the mask has. I added more details with colored pencils.
And finally, I sealed the entire mask with a varnish sealer, which gave it a nice shine :D
