Reblog this if you’re a witch or a Hellenic Polytheist
Finally weeded out like 300 blogs I was following ^.^
I’ll check out your blog and probably follow you!
My outward persona “Witch of the West ” (Margaret Hamilton style 🌪🚲🌪)
PETA
you guys remember when PETA stole people pets off their porches and euthanized them?
you guys remember how it came out that PETA kills about 90% of the animals it takes in, including healthy and adoptable puppies and kittens, stating “ We could become a no-kill shelter immediately. It means we wouldn’t do as much work”?
you guys remember when PETA advocated killing all pit bulls for the crime of being pit bulls?
you guys remember when PETA handed out these comics to children when there were no adults looking?
you guys remember when they made a porn site and then filled it with videos of animal abuse, and (also in that link) claimed cats should be vegetarian?
you guys remember when PETA lied about sheep shearing, got caught, and defended the lie as true even after they admitted the sheep in their picture wasn’t even real?
you guys remember when they tried to excuse their horrifying ways by claiming that the person who exposed them was manipulating the facts by taking them and putting them in the wrong context?
Because I remember. I remember everything.
And I’m gonna make sure everyone else remembers too.
Why would they kill pit bulls they’re sweeties
Because PETA does not care about animals. they do not care that these dogs live and breathe and feel and want love like every other dog. they do not care about the history of human/dog bonding and co-evolution, they do not care that dogs and human beings have relied on each other for millennia, they do not care that its cruel and morally repugnant to put down an animal just because you can, they do not care about animals.
PETA cares about money and publicity, its a corporation run by a psychopath who is afraid of pitts as it states in the link: she was apparently bit by one, and now she hates them.
PETA doesn’t give a rats ass about animals. They just want to kill and make money off of idiots who fall of their spiel.
Some celebs support them
ah c’mon, dear-tumb1r, I think you’re being a bit harsh. I mean, okay, PETA’s done some questionable things, but it’s not like they’ve also
-spread false information about milk causing autism based on outdated bullshit information
-used holocaust imagery to compare the meat industry to concentration camps (no pictures)
-used a young man’s brutal death as a way to say “yeah that’s awful but it happens to animals every day and nobody cares about that” (tw: no pictures but the way the guy died is described and it is really horrible)
-dressed up in KKK robes and protested outside of the Westminister Dog Show to protest breeding/pure bred dogs (tw: racism)
-offered to pay the water bill for literally the poorest neighborhood in Detroit if and only if they all went vegan for a month (tw: self-righteous shitheads)
-and they definitely didn’t have two of their workers accept perfectly healthy animals from an animal hospital, with the implication that they would give them good homes, clarify that these animals were all healthy and well-tempered, and then euthanized them all in the back of a kill-van before dumping their dead bodies behind a grocery store (tw: PICTURES OF DEAD ANIMALS, animal death)
-and they totally didn’t get off pretty much scot-free for it because PETA has loads of money and lawyers to defend themselves, which coincidentally might be why the Cerate family hasn’t seen justice for their kidnapped and murdered dog, Maya. (tw: animal death)
Nah. PETA’s not that bad.
(/the heaviest of all my fucking sarcasm, I am salty as a fucking winter road, lord do I fucking hate PETA)
Did you think i was fucking joking, PETA?
I will make sure everyone fucking remembers what you’ve done.
Bringing it back, because it’s charity season and people need to know NOT to give charity to these fuckers.
Seriously if you want to help animals donate to a no kill shelter, buy makeup and toiletries and laundry products and toothpaste from companies that dont test on animals, give money to conservation groups. Dont feed the trolls. PETA is definitely a troll. The biggest troll around.
Sea Witchery Videos
I’m considerng putting together a video series on how I practice Sea-Witchery. It wouldn’t be anything that goes in-depth regarding spirituality or anything like that, but instead something that would focus on the practical side, incorporating aspects of trad craft and explaining why I do certain things the way I do. If this was something I planned on doing, how many would be interested in actually viewing? Comment and let me know.

On Cats in Norse Pre-Christian Society
Subtitle: Cats are Literally Trolls Why Do You Think They’re Such Assholes
@eclecticwixyness requested me to cover cats in Norse lore and belief. Cats show up in the eddas three times: Freya’s chariot is pulled by two cats (often stated to be gray or blue though Snorri doesn’t specify their color nor their names), Thor tries to lift a cat that is actually Jormungandr in disguise, and the sound of the footfalls of a cat are used to craft the magical chain Gleipnir. Aside from these instances, cats are mentioned sparsely in the saga: once as a troll in the form of a feline beast in “The Tale of Ormr Stdrdlfsson” and a few times they’re alluded to as catskin gloves or cat-fur lined hoods that volvas wear. They show up in folklore after Christianization, usually in conjunction with trolls or the hidden folk. They’re also tied to witches in later Scandinavian folklore. However, their mentions are still relatively sparse. Furthermore, the frequency of cats found in burial sites and Scandinavian artwork is also quite low for an animal tied to one of its foremost goddesses. Despite this, there’s enough pattern repetition within the finds to make a coherent picture of the role they played in Norse belief, though likely not a complete one.

Just in case this isn’t a hoax, I’ll be contacting my friends who I know may be attending Pride and telling them to stay well away. I sincerely hope nothing comes of this. LGBT+ folk in Texas already have enough to worry about without threats like this.

REBLOGGING JUST IN CASE
18 years ago when I was coming out, y’all made the word “bisexual” so dirty that for years the only word I felt was accessible to me was “queer”, if I had any chance at having a community.
Queer was widely used at that point among LGBT+ people to refer to ourselves and our community, and while you’d look askance at a straight person using that word, it was most definitely acceptable to call another LGBT+ person queer.
And now y’all are telling me “Queer” isn’t an acceptable umbrella term to use and it just feels like another way you’re using subtle language policing to tell me that really the only people you want in your community are gold-star LG folks.
Those of us who like the word queer because it accurately reflects our misfit status are basically being told that this self-identifier is dirty and wrong, this is no longer the “queer community”, and the message yet again is that we don’t really belong.
I get it if someone doesn’t want to be called queer, and I would never call another person queer against their will but holy hell please stop acting like it’s common knowledge that queer can’t be used as an umbrella term for our community when it was for DECADES
“q-slur” is a very new concept, kids.
This is something that’s completely overlooked, by the same people who fling the word “ahistorical” at every viewpoint they disagree with.
When I first started participating in any kind of LGBTQ+ stuff online (so, 10 years ago), “queer” was by far the most common descriptor. It was pretty much agreed it had been reclaimed enough to be safe (I mean, show me an active slur that has academic disciplines named after it?) and people seemed much more keen to explore the ambiguity the term offers, rather than sticking with predefined categories. By “q-slur” logic, we should’ve been much less accepting of it back then if we simultaneously believe that LGBTQ+ rights are advancing over time, but the opposite is true.
So I would say that the current stigmatization of queer is based on two things: 1) reactionary essentialism (seeing “queer” as too dangerous for the more clear-cut categories), and 2) respectability politics.
Now by taking away “queer”, we don’t have any other term that’s both catchy (no version of the abbreviation is) and broad enough to actually be inclusive. Gay is not an umbrella term. It always has a default connotation that’s very specific. It only reminds me of all the time I wasted on bad gay-only discourse when I was first questioning my own identity, and for this reason it took ages to arrive at the conclusion that I’m just attracted to multiple genders and also trans without dysphoria (because the other bullshit I had to contend with was the truscum narrative of transness). So, gay is not a safe term for me. It doesn’t describe me and if I used it, it would actually misgender my own relationship. I’m not doing that for any of you, sorry.
Do you know who the majority of the people who still use “queer” are? Trans and MGA. Yet again, we have a political line that privileges cis LG people who are fine with binary categories over the most routinely erased parts of the community. Of course.
This, I imagine, is also why so many bi/pan and trans/nonbinary people aren’t against aces being included. Chances are most of us, at least those who are 25+ or so, have experiences like this, with either being actively policed out or just unable to find the right identifiers for ages because of the stigma and general ignorance surrounding them.
And now you’re telling us we HAVE TO use gay, which isn’t a functional umbrella term, because queer suddenly isn’t acceptable based on this new logic? Do you even hear yourselves?
–
“But!” I can already hear the gatekeepers protest, “This all relies on a bunch of personal anecdotes!”
In which case, buddy, I have bad news for you about the vast majority of all modern LGBTQ+ history.
I first came upon Queer as both an umbrella term and a field of academic study. This was in the early 90s. There were queer studies, queer histories, “queering” of the text, queer theory…
And Queer, more so than other words, felt inclusive of people who, at the time, referred to themselves as “genderqueer” as well as people outside the binary, as well as bisexuals, who couldn’t claim gay or lesbian.
It was, at the time, being reclaimed at a time when all the words were being used as slurs, so there was a real reason to reclaim them.
I’ve problem with using words that people are comfortable using, but not at the cost of erasing parts of our history.
I guess now is the time we’re hitting New Essentialism and Respectability Politics 2.0 from people who aren’t old enough to remember any of this.
Yeah, that’s something a lot of folks in the younger generation don’t get.
When you campaign against words like “queer”, to those of us in the older generations, what it looks like you’re doing is trying to roll the nomenclature back to the bad old days when cisgender gay men were treated as the only “real” members of the community, and everybody else was lumped together as this peripheral pack of weirdos who were expected to be slobberingly grateful to their betters just to be acknowledged at all.
Hell, I clearly recall a time when the leaders of mainstream gay rights activism would routinely castigate even lesbians as parasites and invaders - and be applauded for doing so. It’s difficult to overstate just how deep it went.
And, like, that wasn’t all that long ago - I’m only 33 and I’m old enough to remember that horseshit.
I’m never gonna stop reblogging this, so.
Here you go. More queer history.

Bertha Boronda (from the first San Quentin photo set I posted) was sentenced to five years in prison for “Mayhem” in 1908.
What’s “Mayhem” you ask? Apparently in Bertha’s case, it’s cutting off your cheating husband’s penis with a straight razor, disguising yourself as a man and fleeing by bicycle.
...... Bad ass
“Just don’t curse”
I’m honestly curious. On posts that claim cursing is alright and cursing is ok why do people feel like they need to add their opposing demands?
“Don’t curse!” they cry out.
Why?
Why can’t we curse?
“The Threefold Law!”
Incorrect!
The Three Fold Law was originally published in a fictional work titled High Magic’s Aid by Gerald Gardner.
The story is about two brother’s who set out to reclaim their land. In an interview in 1991 Valiente states, “I think old Gerald cooked it up in one of his rituals, and people took it terribly literally.” (Valiente was an early initiate and high priestess of Gardner, being initiated by him in 1953. She is sometimes referred to as the “Mother of Witchcraft” because of her extensive collaboration with Gardner in reworking his notes into a more formal book of shadows. One of her more most well-know contributions is the poetic form of the Charge of the Goddess.)
Belief in the simple law of cause and effect is a popular one among witches of all traditions; however, this particular way of expressing it [the three-fold law] seems to have originated with the Gardnerians and is peculiar to their English tradition. Gardnerians who did not work with Lady Owen or Raymond Buckland did not have this emphasis on a three-fold return. Unlike the Crowthers, however, Valiente, along with several other coven members split from Gardner around 1960 due to his habit of presenting his personal opinions as law.[x] Through my research on the topic, though it not completely thorough, many Wiccans and witches agree that the words of one person are not law. Many also agree that witches should not be held to a special set of law and rules simply because they practice witchcraft.
“The Wiccan Rede!”
Incorrect!
The Wiccan Rede is not the same thing, though it too was created by a single person. Those who practice NeoWicca do NOT have to follow any rules or laws put forth by specific traditions.
I would also like to emphasize that Gardnerian Wicca is based on initiation and is therefore a closed practice. It is not a title one should claim unless initiated. That being said plenty of Wiccans do not follow the Three Fold Law or The Rede. Those aspects of Wicca apply to very specific traditions in specific practices. If you are at all interested in Wicca I urge you to research “rules” and “laws” before simply accepting them as such.
“Bad Karma!”
Incorrect!
That isn’t how karma works. [x] [x]
“Cursing is only ok when….”
Incorrect!
You don’t get to judge what is “ok” for other people. You weren’t elected, selected or asked. Your own moral values are not the same as other, stop forcing them onto other people.
Stop telling people cursing is “bad” or “isn’t ok”.
“What goes around comes around.”
Incorrect!
This isn’t a good reason. That is a belief you are personally invested in. That doesn’t mean anyone else has to follow it.
I don’t believe in it. I’ve seen people lie, cheat, steal and physically abuse others and nothing ill has ever come of it. I’ve seen people help those in need, go above and beyond, and honestly want to just help others lose everything. Newborns dying of horrible, painful diseases. Animals being tortured. People dying in wars they want no part of. I don’t believe in “what goes around comes around”. If you personally don’t curse thats fine. Stop policing pro-cursing posts because you feel like people aren’t paying you enough attention. I have never once seen a good reason to not curse. At the core, at it’s origin, witchcraft was born of cursing, of hexes, of spoiling milk and killing livestock…. These are the roots of witchcraft. To say anything otherwise is pretty talk and a complete ignorance to the true history of the craft itself.
