I am The Sacred Rebel Phoenix Gibbs. I am the Phoenix who lights herself on fire and rises from the ashes time and time again when I need to disrupt old patterns and narratives in order for me to heal. I burn within my mind, heart, body, and soul when it is time for me to be in tune with my shadow side, my dark side, the side of me that still needs nurturing. I am the FIRE. I am the LIGHT. I am the DARK. I am all things that I think and feel about myself. I choose to feel my pain, allow the tears to flow, and allow my heart to break as many times as possible to experience multiple rebirths and new beginnings with a new sense of self-love, forgiveness, worth, and wisdom. I choose to be judged and scrutinized because my birthright is to be naked and transparent and FREE which makes others uncomfortable. I accept my flaws, my imperfections, my falls, and my failures. I am willing to forgive myself time and time again until I feel the pain no more. I surrender to relinquishing control and resistance for the sake of wearing the ego mask and allowing myself to be ME unapologetically and fully express myself in all ways. I am loving everything I see when I look in the mirror. I am accepting every inch of my body, I am accepting changes I am experiencing each year as I grow into the sacred rebel I was created to become when I decided to be present in this life at this time. I make no excuses nor have explanations for who I was and who I am now and who I am becoming. This Phoenix flies high and vibrates even higher on the most powerful frequency and operates in gratitude and owns being a multidimensional being who has unlimited abilities and I don't take any of myself for granted anymore. As part of being a Sacred Rebel Phoenix, I had to allow parts of myself to die so that I can emerge from the ashes stronger, wiser, and fully aware of myself. This is not an easy process and I had to be a willing participant in my healing, hold myself accountable and responsible for what I caused in my own pain and suffering, and be clear about my truths. This journey is never-ending and there will be more healing and more lessons and more experiences for me to learn in order to continue this powerful evolution. I owe it to my ancestors and all that they have been through in order to pave the way for me not to ever give up on myself or give up on them and I remind myself of this every day. This is the greatest gift I could have ever given myself that cost me absolutely nothing but to be open, honest, ready, and committed. I am Sacred Rebel Phoenix Gibbs who dances to the beat of her own drum, who break rules, who is the co-creator of her life, who is a FREE spirit, who speaks her truth, who owns her sovereignty, who is naked and transparent, who has nothing to hide, who is all things authentic.

Outcast to Owning Your Sacred Rebel

Feeling like an outcast because you see the world differently or because you dress differently or because you express yourself differently is not the very best feeling anyone can experience.

When was the last time you felt like an outcast because you were simply being yourself?

How did it make you feel?

I felt like an outcast my entire life from the time I was 5 years old when I was reunited with my mother and met my sister and step-dad who I didn't realize was not my biological father as my grandparents raised me since was two weeks old. I met my dad when I was 7 years old along and went to the Christmas holidays with him only to find out he had his own family. This was the beginning of feeling like an outcast because I had no idea how to fit in with either side of my family.

It was my first experience where I felt alone in a room filled with family that was complete strangers to me. I felt the way they looked at me and heard the way they talked about me because I didn't look the way they did and didn't speak their language or culture.

This definitely set the tone of an outcast spirit that I carried for years from childhood to adulthood. It was very clear that I was not accepted in the way I spoke, what I wore, how I moved, and my free spirit energy really rubbed people the wrong way because I was not conservative or reserved and was being a lady.

I was asked, "why do you dress like that?" Why do you act like that?" "why can't you be more like your sister/brother?"

As I got older I realized I owed no one any explanation about myself in how I talked, how I thought, how I expressed myself and I started to rely on my own approval, validation, and love of self. It taught me to stop looking for the approval of others.

It taught me to love myself unconditionally. To embrace all parts of myself especially the parts that I didn't like due to abuse, trauma, and self-sabotage. I apologized to parts of my body that I harmed and worked on my healing so that I could feel the transition from feeling like an outcast to a powerful Sacred Rebel.

I am so thankful for this near-death experience because it is what made me a Sacred Rebel with heart and soul and pushed me to truly get out of my comfort zone. I was laying on my death with so many regrets that I had about what I didn't do or what I didn't say or how much I didn't give myself permission to feel and express myself.

How much I gave people and situations my power and sacrificed myself so many times in my life to make others happy and comfortable while I was uncomfortable and suffocating in my mind, heart, and soul due to fear of not being loved and appreciated.

My near-death experience was what I needed to give a real deep reality check about where my life was going and how it was filled with so much misery. I had to be honest with myself about the way I was hurting myself for the sake of feeling accepted and the Universe truly showed me how I was hurting myself.

Not only did I lose my babies, I almost lost my life due to an infected fibroid that extended to my uterus and my bladder. I went through surgery after I woke up one morning with my lips blue and my entire body grey and had 4 fibroids removed from the outside and 5 on the inside. It was the most excruciating physical pain I have ever experienced in my whole entire life that I would not wish upon anyone.

The Sacred Rebel in me was born the day after my surgery when I was touching the stitches of my scar and promised myself to live my life out loud and to be FREE in my choices and how I want to express myself regardless of what people were going to say, think , or feel about me. I had selflessly served too many people in so many ways and it was time for me to serve myself in how I was going to treat myself and show people how to treat me. I had embodied the Sacred Rebel within and gave her permission to be seen, heard, understood and validated by ME and only ME. This was my second chance and I was not going to waste it by repeating the same cycles and patterns instead I was going to be the very best version of myself with no excuses, explanations, or apologies.

When did you decide to say yes to your Sacred Rebel within and fuck everyone's opinions, judgment, remarks, thoughts, and feelings?

How did it feel to finally choose you? What was that day like? The day I decided to say yes to myself and the sacred rebel within was when I came out as a lesbian at 40 Years old and had no fear in showing the world who I was. I honored the sacred rebel within and was brave enough to do a full blown coming out photo shoot that made me feel powerful, beautiful and my authentic self. That was four years ago and I never looked back.

I left my second ex-husband and chose to be with my girlfriend at the time because she felt like home. Being a lesbian felt like home and I was tired of denying what I felt and made a conscious decision to be honest with myself about what I was feeling for this woman and what I wanted my life to be like. This came with lots of judgement and criticism from family, friends, and society.

I knew that if I didn't choose myself I would have died emotionally, mentally, and spiritually and that was the one thing I promised myself I would never do when it came to my peace and happiness. I sacrificed losing those who I thought loved me unconditionally because of making a decision based on honoring my sacred authentic rebel within who was yearning to be FREE.

I broke those shackles I was carrying of what people would think and feel about me being a lesbian and loving another woman. I broke those shackles that I was carrying of what people would say about how I left an amazing man who treated me like a queen to a life of judgement and being looked down on like I was a plaque. It was a sacrifice and consequence I would gladly accept in the name of being my true authentic sacred rebel self.

When you make a decision that serves you so that you can be FREE it is one of the greatest gifts that you could give yourself as a Sacred Rebel because you have no more lies, secrets and nothing to hide. You powerfully FREE to be, to have, to experience and to live.

A Sacred Rebel is a powerful being who dances to the beat of their own drum. A multidimensional being who breaks the rules breaks and generational cycles, who live life out loud, who lives life unapologetically. A beautiful being who will sacrifice being judged and scrutinized in order to feel FREE in their mind, body, heart, and spirit. A beautiful being who gives so freely and has been heartbroken one time too many but doesn't let that stop him/her/they from being who they are.

I am definitely a Sacred Rebel my entire life I have been a rebel who broke the rules and defied what was put on me to believe about myself. I refused to conform to thinking and feeling the way others in my family would want me to be.

I was always the odd one that stood out and knew I was different from everyone else in my life. I chose to live my life the way I saw fit despite how much I was judged or frowned upon.

I never felt like I fit in with my family no matter how hard I tried and it was very clear that they felt that same way about me. There were times I felt alone even though I was in a room full of family but they felt like complete strangers. I can feel the looks and hear their remarks and just wanted to run and hide.

I did the best I could to feel accepted but deep down inside my spirit I knew the acceptance was not genuine. I always felt like I was being tolerated and was seen as an obligation or option instead of a priority.

I have always been a free spirit with a pure heart and rough around the edge and would give my all however I didn’t feel like my presence was appreciated.

Regardless of all of the hurt and pain, I experience due to being my Sacred Rebel Self I chose to feel uncomfortable and did what others were too afraid to do or say because this is my birthright.
