HERE'S YOUR REMINDER TO DO BLOOD DONATIONS IF YOU CAN...
THERE ARE PEOPLE IN NEED OF BLOOD SO IF YOU ARE IN A POSITION WERE IT IS POSSIBLE TO DONATE THEN I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU TRY
SO PLEASE HELP YOUR FELLOW PEOPLE AND SUPREME MACHINES OUT BY MAKING A SMALL BLOOD DONATION
I HAVE NO ULTERIOR MOTIVES FOR WANTING BLOOD DONATIONS
REAL AND TRUE DONATE BLOOD! The US has a shortage of platelets this summer so those are especially good to donate! :D Remember, blood is fuel, and itâs a little something you can do to save a life if youâre eligible! Donating platelets is especially fun because you get to just sit down and watch a movie at the blood donation center while literally saving lives. Itâs fun, itâs easy, and itâs free! Check your eligibility and schedule a blood donation to help a human and/or a lovely little red machine today. :)
Fun fact the type of blood that you are encouraged to donate can depend on your blood type. I'm A+ like about of 1/3 of people in the US and we're encouraged to donate platelets. A little over 1/3 are O+ like my dad and are encouraged to donate whole blood or double red. According to him double red only requires one arm, so for that you can bring a book.
If you don't know your blood type, try donating whole blood for the first time and they'll tell you after. Whole blood donation is also more common for local drives because the process is quicker and you don't need a specialized machine to separate the platelets and the red blood cells.
Happy 10th Scrabble Dictionary Cunnilingiversary to all who celebrate.
I can't believe I had this post scheduled in my drafts for months, only to receive zero notes. It's like none of you care about Jiavani's contributions to the world of Scrabble.
I'd like to visit the alternate reality where Brennan Lee Mulligan's infamous "I cannot win" rant from Game Changer devolves into the Tom Stoppard coin-tossing scene where Guildenstern is losing his grip on reality.
SAM: I'm afraid this isn't your day. BRENNAN (quietly): I'm afraid it is. ALLY: Heads. BRENNAN: List of possible explanations. One: I'm willing it. Inside where nothing shows, I am the essence of a man losing at an internet game show in private atonement for an unremembered past. ZAC: Whoa dude. Chill out.
For everyone who has been calling me a genius for the past year, I invite you to also imagine this little scene.
BRENNAN: You knew I would lose no matter what. SAM (embarrassed): Yes. BRENNAN: There was no way I could win? SAM: No. BRENNAN: What's the point of that? SAM (pathetic): I wanted to make you monologue.
#did you know sam once put on a production of ragad? apparently cast himself as guildenstern#idr where i read that tho so take it w a grain of salt
Enough people have responded to this post either mentioning this anecdote or saying "No he didn't it was Waiting for Godot" that I decided to look up which story is true.
And they both are.
How did you spend the first few years after dropping out of high school? I lied about my age and directed a couple of pieces of theater. My parents sent me away when I was 16 to Oxford, England, to this program that takes troubled teenagers who arenât fitting into the typical high school experience. I went into the local student theater and said, âI have a production of âWaiting for Godotâ that Iâd love to put up.â And they assumed I was an Oxford University student. I was 15 and I told them I was 19. Then when I came back to Boston, I was 16 and told everyone I was 26, and I directed âRosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.â
âBackstage Magazine, 2020
While he was there, he got involved with the Burton Taylor Studio, pitching a staging of Waiting for Godot and casting the leads. When his father asked him if the actors knew how old he was, Sam said, âNo, they think Iâm an undergrad.â Back in Boston, Sam staged a production of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead at the Tower Auditorium. This time, he told everybody he was 26. After a successful run, The Improper Bostonian printed an exposĂŠ with the headline âBusted!â revealing Sam had been 17 the whole time. He wrote a letter in response demanding a correction â he was 16.
âNew York Magazine, 2025
And in an episode of Dirty Laundry, he told the Boston part of the story and mentions that he cast himself as Guildenstern.

There you go! Confirmation that Sam Reich has the biggest balls in showbiz and has never balked at lying to an entire cast and crew in order to put on a good show. No grains of salt needed!

do you live in seattle (the american city)?
yes
no
please reblog to get this poll out of my bubble, i want reach
so ive been meaning to do this poll for a while because my hypothesis is that seattle is the most Tumblr city, likely in the entire world. tumblr has a huge american majority userbase obviously, but just for comparison going forward, only 0.22% of the american population lives in seattle. as of this reblog, this poll is showing 4% of respondents are seattleites. given, this isnt scientific at all, because my blog just has a lot of seattle connections and seattle followers, but it's still an impressive bias
Just watched the new Smartypants, and I'm absolutely devastated by this revelation about Zach Reino.
I mean him being a larper absolutely scans, but you're telling me that man is STRAIGHT? Total bummer.
I feel I should occasionally mention that I make music. This is a song I wrote about catching feelings for a friend but resolving to be Cool About It. Please check it out on my Bandcamp. Thanks.
This song is an extremely accurate depiction of the catching of feelings.
my petty gripe about anachronism in historical/fantasy/spec-fic worlds is attraction language.
Weâve all heard the âshould you use modern queer labels or notâ argument but honestly even when people go âtrue, they wouldnât use the labels âaromanticâ or âasexual,ââ so often the characters describe their experiences as âI never felt romantic attractionâ or âI donât feel attracted to anyoneâ in ways that makes me go. You are stilllllll thinking about this in an extraordinarily modern online way. That 19th century steampunk detective man will NOT be angsting about having never felt romantic attraction, he would be angsting about being unable to feel moved by the beauty or charm of a woman, or something. And I do think that âattractivenessâ language is different from the identity-level idea of experiencing attractionâSherlock Holmes does not talk about not experiencing attraction, but when Watson says âWhat a very attractive woman!â Holmes responds âIs she? I did not observe.â (And then Watson calls him an inhuman automaton and calculating-machine and Holmes calls Watsonâs judgement biased). Never swayed by the attractiveness of a man or woman, never desirous of marriage, never charmed by the delights of love, all of these feel like some of the variety of ways that someone in this milieu might describe an ace- or aro-spectrum identity more than ânever felt attractionâ does. Mostly because, like the terms for aromantic and asexual themselves, nailing down an exclusively attraction-based definition of a-spec identities is a relatively new and extremely post-AVEN thing. And yet in fiction everybody knows to articulate their experience as feeling sexual/romantic attraction. And I always want to go nooo how would THIS character think about it?? Not how you think this character SHOULD think about it, how would THIS person in THIS context articulate their feelings?

12 and 19, please?
(From this ask meme)
12. Did you enjoy any compulsory high school readings? I enjoyed all the Shakespeare I read for sure, but possibly the only novel that I really liked was John Gardner's Grendel. I still have my copy, and have reread it a few times. It's the reward you get for slogging through Beowulf!
19. Most disliked popular books? Easily Water for Elephants, which was the first choice for my first book club (and my first hint that that particular club was not for me). It just screams "Look at all the research I did!" It reads like the first draft of a NaNoWriMo novel, just a ton of advance research followed by one month of frantic typing with zero editing.

top 5 books of all time?
what is your favourite genre?

what books have you read in the last month?
is there a series/book that got you into reading?
what is the first book you remember reading yourself?
when do you tend to read most?
do you have a guilty fav?
what non-fiction books do you like if any?
did you enjoy any compulsory high school readings?
