Released: Outlast Trials AU 𐦖
I want to preface this by saying it is STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS!! I have only played Outlast trials. So for now the outlast games that come AFTER or BEFORE this don’t apply here. (Unless Theres lore for the outlast trials characters in them?? Idk but basically forget all about those games for this AU.) This post will get edited for every new update to the AU. See bottom of post for Key/notes.
Basic Plot: Murkoff shuts down and the prime assets go to mount massive and eventually all get released and live together in a shitty house as squatters.
Miscellaneous details: all prime assets are given different social security numbers so their slates are wiped “clean”. During trials, gas fills the trial grounds. All Prime assets and reagents pass out from the gas being pumped into the building. The prime assets wake up in a bus going to mount massive. Reagents who could rebirth are allowed to leave to go fight in the Cold War, those who were behind were killed. The Kress twins show up in the house [OC] is squatting in and the other prime assets eventually get word and begin to move in, whether anyone wants them too or not. They were given new SSN because murkoff knew they would be to difficult to kill, they might need them later, and because of their experimentation there would be no where for the bodies to be buried due to public records. Burning them would waste to much funds, considering they have to get rid of the entire building as well.

- Keeps the house running due to his knowledge about electricity/general handiman-ness
- Get’s a job as an electrician after being forced to get one by the other Prime Assets.
- Works as a school secretary.
- Removed the drill from Dr Futterman.
- She doesn’t have an arm on the side she uses Dr futterman on. (See bottom of post for reasoning.)
- Forge everybodies school credentials.
- Stays at home, keeps it pretty.
- Arora has a garden in the back.
- Works in a retirement home. (see bottom of post for reasoning.)
- Works as a street musician and getting random gigs on piano at bars/other events.
- Gets out of mount massive way later due to her severe religious beliefs.
- Murkoff shuts down because he kills himself.

Why is Mother Gooseberry missing an arm? - in the art of Dr. Futterman, the bottom of him looks like a prosthetic, like it slides onto her arm. Also, if you look at the x-Ray of the big grunt, her very clearly missing leg still shows to have a bone. Same thing could, theoretically, go for Mother Gooseberry.
Why does Franco work at a retirement home? - His constant need of approval and his need to feel young. Me and my girlfriend collectively agreed that he would constantly need praise. Any other job we played with we agreed that he wouldn’t last at because of management/previously stated reasons. Old people can be sweet and we think Franco would love to be constantly hearing how sweet and young he is.
Can we like the AU without enjoying [OC]? - absolutely ^^ feel free to replace where our OC’s would be with any Prime Asset/oc you like. Although, we request you still give us credits ^^’
Are these facts set in stone? - NO! This AU is a work in progress. Facts may be changed, altered, added, or removed at any time. Most things written will more than likely stay the same, so feel free to get comfortable. We are aware that there may be plot holes/things that don’t make sense. We’re working on it.
Why don’t the Prime Assets just go back to their old ways? - They’re trying hard to make the second chance count. If this was canon I’m sure all the Prime Asset’s WOULD go back to being terrible, horrible people. But this is an AU, so :)
