Heya! Welcome to the 'Ask The Rival Hogs' blog! This is a Sonic and Shadow centered blog who follow mostly the game cannon but will mention shows and/or comics as memories!

Now with that out of the way, here are the rules: this blog is intended for mature audiences, if you can’t understand what innuendos are, or anything of that sort, you are definitely too young for this blog. (18+)

The characters here will probably make sexual innuendos and comments, they are both consenting adults in this.

There may or may not be triggering topics mentioned in posts or asks, if there are they will include the proper warnings! Remember to look out for yourselves, of course.

This blog is Sonadow centered, so if you do not like this ship, you’re perfectly free to scroll away :)

The characters may not be ENTIRELY like their cannon selves, (such as Shadow being happier then he is shown, Sonic being sad, crying, traumatized, etc. the mod will let the hogs have more emotions then sega has.)

NSFT are allowed, however don’t be mega weird with it.

This blog will probably contain alot of violence, or mentions of it, especially child violence/death, considering shadow is one of the two mains. Do not expect the two to ALWAYS be kind to you, sonic mostly. You may push their boundaries inc and they will react accordingly to how the mod plays them/sees them reacting, dont take it to heart though, this is all just roleplay afterall!

23. a headcanon that was serious, and now you consider just a joke (from the odd headcanons, for either hog)

// so to answer the first part, a Serious headcanon I had for Sonic was that he was a deadweight sleeper, being able to sleep anywhere due to how many concussions he's sustained while somehow being fully aware of where he is while he's asleep. this became more joking and silly as I developed other Headcanons for him. :) //

Sonic's Love Language has always leaned more towards actions than words. he absolutely sucks with words and can stand around stammering for several minutes as he tries to compile all his feelings into what he wants to say to shadow to make shadow feel as loved as sonic wants him to feel but it usually fails so he resorts to big actions like Public Displays of Affection or extravagant dates to sights he's seen all over earth that he finds deserving of Shadow's time. he'll also try to get him gifts, but Shadow's abit hard to read- atleast to Sonic- in that regard so he usually just sticks with the extravagant dates and PDA.

Shadow's Love language is also actions, believe it or not, but not for the same reason as Sonic's. Shadow can use words and has before, and finds it easy to. but he personally feels that words are meaningless if the actions dont show the true love, so he always tries to use more actions to get his love across. PDA is still very new to him, especially around people they know, but he's an affectionate hog when they're alone or at home. //

Sonic regrets it every time someone gets hurt because he chose not to make Eggman suffer for his actions. he regrets his moral compass allowing eggman so many chances, and even if he could very easily right this regret- Sonic doesn't because he physically cannot bring himself to. atleast, not yet, Eggman hasn't killed anybody he loves dearly. yet. (platonic or not, etc)

Shadow regrets not Killing Infinite when he had the chance. now that Tails is attached to Infinite, some-fucking-how, Shadow no longer has the chance he had to right that regret and it angers him deeply. it mainly angers him because to him, letting Infinite walk freely alive means letting him get away with the torment he brought unto sonic and for that Shadow genuinely regrets not killing Infinite along with his family. //

Sonic on the other hand was outright comfortable with just a simple lip kiss, chuckling afterwards with his hands on his own hips.

Shadow doesnt take the flowers. he just crosses his arms and holds a progressively sharp glare against the user with his paw ghosting over the handle of his gun on his hip. Sonic, on the other hand, reaches forward to take both flowers with a small flat chuckle.

“ooo Mr Sonic! Mr Shadow! Is anyone around?” Cream knocked at the door and waited patiently, she knew there probably wasn’t a chance anyone was home. She could just leave these letters here, and she would if not one appeared…

But she wanted to see the look on their faces when they opened it! Her Mother had come up with an idea to prank sonic back and helped her make a ‘glitter bomb’ in a letter. She assured her it wasn’t anything like an actual bomb, but they would be finding glitter everywhere months after! And who doesn’t love glitter!!

She looked down at both letters, one for Shadow and one for Sonic. It felt rude to include Shadow in this prank, but it felt ruder to not include him at all! So Cream and the Chaos decided he would get a glitter bomb letter too. With an apology note attached.

Sonic answered the door. usually he and shadow weren't home but Cream being the lucky rabbit she was had managed to catch them at a time where they both were infact home. Sonic was home, begrudgingly, because Shadow was punishing him for running around pranking people all day the day before and of course Shadow knew better than to Leave Sonic unsupervised for more than five minutes.

' ' Oh, hey cream! ' '

Sonic says with a big friendly smile, softly chuckling under his breath as he recalled the harmless-positive prank note he left on Cream's back the day earlier. even if it wasn't April Fools still, he had no idea what he was in for!

' ' Cream's here? ' '

Shadow says rather gently in his deep toned demeanor, to which Sonic gently nods with a smile and steps to the side a little so that he and Shadow could stand side by side in the door to gaze down curiously at Cream. Shadow had his suspicions, judging by the way the young rabbit was looking at the letters when they had opened the door, but Shadow only crossed his arms and gave a friendly smile. if Sonic had pranked Cream, he wasn't going to get in the way of Cream getting back at Sonic. even if it meant that he'd get pranked too.

' ' What'cha got there? ' '

Sonic says, politely oblivious as ever as he gazes down at the Letters in Cream's paws.

Cream looks actually shocked for a long moment before a wide grin appears across her face and her ears start flapping slightly behind her back.

“I managed to catch both of you home? And at the same time! This must be my lucky day!!” She giggles with Chao. “Oh- Yes this! I have a gift for you both! From the Chao and me, they’re letters!”

Cream hands them both their respective letters, which each have Sonic and Shadow in her neatest hand writing on the front.

Then she takes a step back, barely holding in the excitement. “Open them!” The worlds biggest, cheekiest grin painted across her face as she waits.

Sonic chuckles a little at Cream's reaction to catching them both home at the same time which was rarer than one would think. he then slightly beams at the 'gifts' Cream has for them, reaching down to gently take the letter addressed to him specifically first as it's enclosed in it's envelope. he's oblivious to Cream's cheeky but obvious grin.

Shadow however, as he's taking his respective letter, notices the cheeky grin which confirms his suspicions. he merely softly smiles, a brief rarity itself too, before the dark hedgehog moves to open his Letter in sync with the hedgehog so he doesn't spoil that surprise.

And a surprise it was, because as the both of them opened the envelopes for the supposed letters- the glitter bomb worked to exact perfection and blew up in their faces.

Shadow remained quiet as his face was now absolutely covered in respective red glitter that made his face all glittery and shiny but he kept that small amused smile. he didn't react nearly half as bad as Sonic did though. that was mainly because shadow had closed his eyes when he opened the Envelope compared to sonic stupidly opening it with oh-so-wide eyes.

Sonic didn't react bad, but safe to say he definitely wasn't expecting it when the blue glitter- blue to his respective color- blew up in his face that just made his face shiny and glittery with the blue glitter. he threw his head back with a playful laugh after blinking a few several times to try to get the glitter out of his eyes. he moves an arm to rub his own eyes quickly while still giggling like the sillier hedgehog he was. There wasn't one hint of anger on the Hedgehog's face whatsoever. Sonic's laughter dilutes into giggles and when he manages to speak it's still between gentle laughter.

' ' Cream that's a good one! you got us good! ' '

Shadow gives a small nod to accompany the agreement about Sonic's words about the said prank.

' ' Now you can say you caught the fastest thing alive off guard. ' '

Shadow teases gently with a small smug smirk, immediately getting a very gentle elbow to the side from Sonic.

' ' Nooo! no! dont tell her that- You didn't catch me off guard, it was just- a good prank! ' '

Sonic sputters over his words, torn between his silly lighthearted ego and trying to keep his compliments to Cream genuine.

' ' you totally caught him off guard. ' '

Shadow repeats with a light grin to Cream.

“..So. This is the self proclaimed ‘god killer’ and the Alien hybrid? How… tiny. But then again you mortals are pretty surprising with what you can do.” And hes insanely tall himself so every mortal seems like an ANT. Dont question how hes not burning everything in his vicinity rn.

' ' Oh, hello! hi! What're you doin' here big ol' guy? ' '

Sonic puts one paw on his own hip and lifts the other paw to wave it sporadically, very friendly. Shadow beside him just has his face covered with his gloved paws and a exasperated groan about something something 'i'm too old for this shit.'

Confused big ol rumbling, literally just leaning down and resting on his big ass arms. Totally not weird hes just chilling with them-

Sonic rapidly taps his foot against the ground at the headpats. Shadow looks unamused at the giant fucking lava god petting them but half smirks at Sonic's blunt answer to the God's confused rumbling. Sonic just keeps speaking.

' ' Anyway so before you do that, how's it going buddy? wanna chit chat? ' ' '
