Californians have the chance to end child marriage in the state all thanks to Kate Yang's endless activism to end child marriage in all fifty states. They will be deliberating about this in the next week or so, so any letters of support they receive in the next 48hrs or so will be very important.

Californian residents please share your support for the amendment proposed for AB 1267 and send in a letter of support to your legislators to make the minimum marriage age 18 with no exceptions. I also believe non-residents are allowed to submit support letters, but they have told Kate before that there isn't a lot of public concern about this matter and they would need to see more Californians support ending child marriage than previously.

Yesterday the bill passed unanimously through the Senate judiciary! It's one step closer to ending child marriage in California, it still has to continue through some more voting processes but it passed its first hurdle with unanimous support so far, so I hope this is a sign of the process to come 🫶
