hello, my name is dils. im a black genderqueer lesbian saint lucian living in saint lucia. im also multiply neurodivergent, physically disabled and mentally ill. and august 1st is emancipation day, which marks the end of slavery and later apprenticeship in the english caribbean.

ive been dealing with an injury in my hip since september of last year, which i have, as of the time of writing this, finally found the cause of (new disability check). however this required a bilateral hip mri which cost $3,500 ec dollars. i was able to pay $1,000 myself, and my mother covered the remaining $2,500, which i now need to reimburse her.

i have a job which covers my living expenses, however my mother is retiring soon and will therefore have a steep dip in income, and i also need to save for university in a year, and at the rate im able to pay her back it will take about a year to cover the cost. i would like to request some assistance in reimbursing her and being able to continue saving to move countries for my education.

im actually going to call the medical imaging center to potentially dispute the cost because my doctor has told me they may have overcharged me by pricing what was actually one bilateral mri as 2 separate mris but for now, im setting the goal at $850 usd which is equivalent to about $2,300 xcd, which is the remaining balance i owe my mother. im going to turn off reblogs on this post on august 8th no matter what. i dont expect my debt to be fully repaid by crowd funding, id just like to make a dent in it.
