Disneyâs most popular movie, Frozen, is one that I have seen many times. I have a 3 year old niece who is quite in love with it. Thatâs my fault seeing that i was the one who showed it to her when she was barely 1 year old. Enough backstory!Â
I would be lying if I said I didnât like this movie. My favorite character being Kristoff. The plot twist at the end with Hans being evil actually came as somewhat of a shock. I was thoroughly surprised when he said that it was all a big plot to get her kingdom. In the beginning of the movie, Hans shows no actual signs of being evil. He even smiled as Anna walked away to the coronation ceremony. Also when the Duke of Weselton was questioning Anna while she was gone looking for Elsa, Hans defended her and said that there would be âNo questioning the Princessâ. It makes me wonder if he really was evil in the beginning. Or was he being controlled and watching the love of his life slip between his fingers because he couldnât do anything about it?
He seemed too close to Anna to have only been scheming her. Also if all he wanted was the kingdom, why not go after Elsa instead. Anna is after all a princess and it wouldnât raise his status to King. Even if he tried to kill Elsa in the end, if none of the previous events had occurred, I still doubt that he would be King.
Okay, so back to the whole non evil theory. It hasnât left my mind that maybe the rock trolls had something to do with it. They were practically forcing Anna and Kristoff to get married right then and there. I know there is the whole thing that they are like Kristoffâs parents and raised him and everything. It also brings up the question that did he really not have a family? How was he able to follow all these men doing their ice work without any of them saying a thing to the kid? Itâs all very confusing ahh. So, the trolls right? They seem pretty invested in themselves. I highly doubt they didnât recognize Anna and have the slightest clue as to why she was there. Also, they kept ignoring Kristoff when he tried asking for their help to save Anna. they just broke out into song, trying to marry them really. Itâs this line in the song that really stuck to me;
âHer brainâs a bit betwixt
Get the fiancé out of the way and
The whole thing will be fixed.â
Get the fiancĂ© out of the way? Seems a bit cryptic. Which brings up the theory that they must have wanted Anna for Kristoff so badly that they got to Hans first and cursed him into being evil. Also, Anna didnât technically like Kristoff until she realized Hans didnât love her. Is that really what they wanted for Kristoff? Imagine being Hans, cursed and literally pushing the love of your life away.
I never really liked the purpose of the trolls in the movie, because clearly they couldâve known that isolating Elsa from everyone, including Anna, would only harm her and her powers. They didnât tell the King otherwise though. Itâs a bit sketchy, but remember, this is only a theory!
