LI REFERENCES | CHARACTER PLAYLISTS
THE MYSTERIOUS
Elysianwhisper
Nonbinary/Female | Oracle | DawnClan
Hidden behind a veil of mystery and stoic looks, there is little known about Elysianwhisper's personal life. Opening up to others is rare for them, but perhaps you might change that, if you can teach them to trust you.
THE REBEL
Trickfang
Gender Customizable | Warrior | DawnClan
Trickfang is infamous amongst the clan for their propensity to get into fights and rebel against authority. They won't take anything from anybody, and you'd regret ever crossing them. Underneath that harsh demeanor is a golden-hearted warrior, thoughâ you'll just have to show them that you're somebody they can care about.
THE FORBIDDEN
Flintstrike
Gender Customizable | Warrior | TwilightClan
Kindness and generosity is scarce within the clans. Flintstrike doesn't seem to be affected by this scarcityâ they are kind, even to total strangers, and are willing to help you on your mission with little persuasion. They've seen horrors that you couldn't dream of, and they carry an air of melancholy about them. Discover the secrets of the clans with them, or be cast out if you are discovered.
THE OUTSIDER
Crane
Gender Customizable | Loner
Loners are hard to come by due to the disappearances. Crane hardly seems bothered, though, and their aloof manner tends to anger clan cats. They have no regard for borders or territories, and simply wander wherever they choose. Perhaps you can convince them to help with your causeâ or leave the clans behind together.
The Council is a group of high-ranking and important cats of Dawnclan; among them are the Oracles, Leader, Deputy, Head ranks, and several popular warriors. The Council seems to run the clanâ they make all the decisions, but are they good ones?
There's a rebellion brewing amongst the underbelly of DawnClan's warriors, fighting back against bias and corruption. Infighting has already begun within the clan, and it's only a matter of time before things get out of hand.
It is up to you to uncover the corruption and dark history of The Councilâ just make sure to watch your back.
sorry for my long silence, i've had a Bit of a time. now that i'm deep into college, i've been circling TTH in my mind, really thinking about what i want to do with it, but i would like some opinions first. i'm thinking of making TTH into an actual game (i will mainly be using RPG maker MV as i have no experience with coding and recently became obsessed with In Stars and Time, which sparked the idea of making TTH into a real game.)
thoughts on making TTH into an actual game?
sounds fun, go for it!
nah, keep it text-based.

it will likely have multiple endings as the twine-based TTH would've had, just less words and more art.
thoughts? advice? i'd also love tips from people who have experience with RPG maker or similar engines.
The ruthless leader of DawnClan. No cat escapes her watchful eye or powerful claws. She enjoys sparring in her downtime. Formerly Head Fighter before rising to leadership.
Morningfrost earns her spot on the Council as Head Hunter, showing exceptional hunting and tracking skills, and leading hunting patrols. She's well known for her no-nonsense attitude and strong sense of justice. Her traditionalist nature would fit right in with TwilightClan, yet she's proud of her heritage as a DawnClan cat. She is the MC's previous mentor.
Do you have any tentative date when the demo might be released? No rush, I just couldn't help but ask, because I'm really excited about the concept this game đ
hopefully by late January/early February 2023. i've got exams coming up so progress will be slow, but i've got about half the prologue done so thankfully that takes some work off my plate. thank you for your interest!! :D

Hey, I just found your blog, and your game seems pretty interesting! ^_^ I used to love the Warrior Cats books when I was a teen!(I stopped reading after the Dark Forest battle happened though.)
Anyway, can't wait to see what kind of stuff your interactive fiction game brings! c:
thank you so much!! :D (ive read up to the newest arc but my mind stopped remembering any plot details after OotS lol)
again thanks for the support and have a wonderful day! :]
Another one(lmao); how do the ROs manage their anger (do they get mad often, do they stay quiet and then explode or get things off of their chest immediately, do they hold grudges, etcâŠ)?
interesting question!! let's seeâŠ
Elysianwhisper: Basically a brick wall when it comes to emotions. They hardly emote and force themself to repress such anger. They bottle it up and keep that information for later, if they should ever use it against somebody. It's rare for them to be visibly angry; they never raise their voice or get physical. If they do get visibly angry, then they're really pissed off and you fucked up. They do, however, hold major grudgesâ kind of like the "[Character] will remember that" meme. Their tone can also become terse and snappish when they're annoyed.
Trickfang: Doesn't hesitate to show their anger as soon as they feel itâ they have a short fuse and it shows. They make their anger known by getting loud and rough, and if it is really badâ practically exploding with anger and physically lashing out. They definitely hold grudges.
Flintstrike: Flintstrike is slow to anger. They don't like to raise their voice, but if they are actually angry, they will blow up at others, snapping and yelling. They will later apologize for this behavior, especially if they snapped at a loved one. If you hurt their family, it's basically no holds barred. They'll get right up in your face, challenging you to a fight. As long as you don't hurt their family, there's nothing to be angry about. They don't hold grudges, thinking it's better to forgive and forget⊠as long as you don't hurt their family, of course.
Crane: Crane is exceptionally slow to anger. They like to take life as it comes, and whatever happens, will happen. They follow the saying c'est la vieâ that's life. They don't hold grudges and they don't hold any hard feelings. The only way to get them irked is to insult their lifestyle and careless attitude, but they turn that annoyance into simply ignoring you. You simply aren't worth their time if you can't understand the way they live.
Whatâs one piece of advice you would give the ROs?
And I'm so happy to see you're back!! But remember to take care of yourself, too!
ooo, this one made me think a bit! it says a lot about a character based on the advice they've givenâŠ
Elysianwhisper: It's alright to let others in. You don't always have to be a monument of strength. Remember that others care for you, even if you can't see it.
Trickfang: Don't take everything so personally. The world isn't out to get you.
Flintstrike: You can't protect everyone. You'll eventually have to let the ones you love go, and that's okay. Don't sacrifice your health at the expense of someone else.
Crane: Ignoring your problems won't help you. They don't go away if you act like they're not there, it only prolongs the inevitable.
I do not have words for how excited I am for this!! An interactive fiction based on warrior cats? Sign me up! I'm very excited to see where this story goes <333
thank you!! :D i'm excited to get to show people the story i've had in my head for a while now :] hope you enjoy it when the demo releases!!
Genre: Fantasy/horror text adventure (think text-based interactive fiction with CYOA and RPG mechanics)
Set in a high fantasy world with low fantasy stakes, the character-driven story of The Salt Keep follows a struggling merchant named Doyle who stumbles into a life-or-death mystery. During the last legs of a months-long journey as a traveling salesman, Doyle stops in the seemingly deserted village of Cardwyke to meet a friend who has promised to help keep him financially afloat, but what he finds is even more dangerous than the crushing weight of debt.
The world of The Salt Keep should be familiar to any fan of fantasy â it has breastplates, and swords, and other fun stuff like that â but is shaped by the vaguely industrial creep of bastard feudalism. Sprawling merchant conglomerates and faceless business structures pull the levers of power as much as dukes and knights.
The world is meant to be both a reflection of traditional fantasy settings (the England-coded sword and sorcery and D&D-style locations we're used to) and an answer to some of the tropes I find most frustrating about them. It's not a world of prophesied heroes doing Great Man Theory or of grimdark anti-heroes exposing the essential evil of humanity, but of ordinary medieval schlubs trying to survive within alienating and oppressive political systems.
In other words, it's not a world a character like Doyle has any hope or intention of changing; he only means to survive.
The Salt Keep is a text-based game, so the action is described through text and the player navigates and makes choices via button inputs. Through these basic mechanics, you'll be able to:
Guide Doyle through the village and the towering keep that looms above it as he searches for a means of escape.
Collect items and discover their uses.
Equip gear to improve Doyle's ability scores.
Succeed or fail at percentage-based challenges.
Earn experience and level up based on those challenges.
Talk to and work with NPCs to make progress.
Uncover secrets and missable areas.
Risk grievous bodily harm.
Despite the prevalence of choices and risks, there is no chance of death or dead-ends. The story always moves forward. In turn, you'll change the outcome of Doyle's story (as well as those of the NPCs) not just through the things you choose to do, but through the things you fail to do, and the things you choose to ignore.
The demo includes the prologue and first chapter of five total chapters. It should provide around two hours of gameplay, though it'll vary depending what you choose to do and how thorough you are.Â
The full game is novel-length â roughly 260k words â with writing completed, and is currently in the late stages of development. It will release on Mac and PC, as well as Android and iOS, and the demo should provide a good sense of both gameplay and the direction the rest of the narrative will take. If you want to help support development or keep track of progress:

whenever an author solicits asks I usually go *head empty no thoughts* and suddenly every question Iâve ever known disappears from my brain, and since I bet Iâm not alone I thought it might be useful to have a prompts list of sort that you can use whenever you wanna ask a dev something! the list is still pretty short because i have the memory of a goldfish (thanks @ all the friends who helped me find ideas!!) but youâre welcome to send me your faves to be added! đ
I will say as someone who was a huge fan of Warrior Cats seeing an IF based on them is really really comforting to preteen me, so thank you
