Digging into series is fun, till you get hit with something that doesn’t seem entirely proper and likely was an oversight.
I love project 863, but the question of ages is.. a bit difficult. I wanted to see what Syphus sibling was order, genuine curiosity and I haven’t looked at the evidence for a while so why not. For this I ignored birthdays and made them all born on January 1st as no birthdays have been revealed and they make comparing ages difficult.
I started with Nelson. He died in 2014 at 65, says his autopsy. That makes him born around 1949. Deborah was next, as she also had an autopsy. In 2022, she died at 57, so she was born around 1965.
The Syphus siblings have a 16 year age yep. 1949 to 1965. I mean it’s not fully unreasonable, that happens, but it’s definitely strange. Deborah was a child in kindergarten when Nelson should’ve been in university, definitely makes you question things.
After that ages get impossible, as we have no other autopsy report that clearly states their ages. Though workers ages to appear on something else, the document in the filing cabinet Wesley had. Deborah is 34 on her document, meaning it was made in 1999. Unfortunately, Jordan Kendal’s document claims she joined in 2002, meaning those documents were made randomly.
The earliest date we have for anything Syntec does come from those documents though. While Wesley’s start date is “Founded the company”, and Deborah’s is 1986, there is one more. Gary Reynolds, everyone’s favourite. It states the first day he was assigned to Syntec was 1985, around 1 year before Deborah joined.
Deborah started at Syntec when she was 21. If we take Gary’s start date as the beginning of Syntec, Nelson made the company at 37.
There is one thing I found odd. Wesley and Deborah were together, yet Wesley and Nelson made the company together. According to the files in his filing cabinet, it was made when he was 33, one year younger than Deborah but it could’ve been made before or after hers. Either way, Deborah and Wesley have to be close in age, meaning Wesley likely founded the company around 20.
Nelson was 37, Wesley was 20ish. That’s over a decade at least in age gap. While we don’t know the whole story, I do find it strange they have such a big age gap, mind you I don’t believe any of their ages were thought through fully. The simple fact the Syphus siblings have around a 16 year age gap definitely says Matthias’ team likely scribbled random numbers down.
There is one other character with a timeline we are more familiar with, Benjamin. He started at Syntec in 1988. In 1995, the date of the notes found in the RV, Deborah was already begging him to stop using the serum. 7 years from his start date to him already losing himself. In 2003 is when the “accident” happened, as in Wesley’s desk that’s the date on his notes when he claims Benjamin is blaming him. And finally in 2022 the S.P.I.R.E is turned off, freeing Benjamin.
If we just take the year of the accident and the year he was freed, he was under some sort of mind control for 19 years. He was on the serum for at LEAST 27 years, from 1995 to 2022.
All of this is from the youtube series, I am well aware there might be things I am missing from the books, I have them, but I don’t feel like looking through them. It’s very possible we will never get anything confirming any of this information, as it seems Matthias is moving away from this side of Syntec and moving to a new (still operational?) side of Syntec. I have many questions like who is running it??? But that answer definitely won’t come soon.
I’m sure Nelson and Deborah will be mentioned slightly. I mean even if Project 863 is over, can he really hide the fact he was apart of a project that someone from Syntec worked on for years? Bryan will want answers and at some point I’m sure Matthias will at least mention Deb.
Anyways that’s my rant about a 16 year age gap of the Syphus siblings! Nelson really just hates his baby sister a lot, like she wasn’t learning how to walk when he was in high school. I like figuring out things we probably weren’t supposed to notice!
