PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM UNLICENSED KEITH HARING MERCHANDISE!
During his life, Keith Haring did a lot to keep art accessible to all. However, he did NOT appreciate others reproducing his work for a profit of their own.
The Keith Haring Foundation owns all legal rights to his art, and is a great charity organization. BUY RESPONSIBLY! SUPPORT BUSINESSES THAT ARE LICENSED BY THE HARING FOUNDATION!
Uniqlo, the MoMA, Coach, Target, Asos, and many other brands have acquired legal rights to produce Haring shirts, pins, socks, shoes, childrenās toys, and more (and I mean more. There are licensed sex toys ffs). Buy responsibly, and when shopping online, look for explicit mentions of the Haring Foundation.
These shops are not only legal, but usually donate proceeds to The Haring Foundation, which provides HIV/AIDS education + care, a cause Haring dedicated his life to as he was suffering from AIDS himself.
Be wary of Etsy and Redbubble listings, too, as they usually include Haringās own art rather than original art.
If the stores listed above are too expensive, I recommend thrifting! You can also find a lot of nice tees on Depop and eBay.
tl;dr: donāt buy unlicensed merch w/ Keith Haringās art (or any artist, for that matter)
