My nervous system can't differentiate between "giving an exam " and "being chased by a bear.

Whenever I start to think of writing a book.

Then I remember, how gut-wrenching ,mind boggling , mind-twisting it is to actually finish one.

"Did you think of me?"

No, I just wrote poems about you. Found glimpses of you in people I love. Dreamt about how you laugh. How you make me feel whole just by existing. Started eating your favourite food, listening to the songs you love.

Woman are expected to be "okay" all the time. They are wired that way, to always mould themselves, bend towards others expectations, adapt under any circumstances .

So when I say I will be okay. I will be ,eventually.

Plotting it in the shower? Writing. Dramatizing scenes in your head at 2am? Writing. Pacing the kitchen in full existential crisis? WRITING.

Progress isn’t always on the page. But it’s still happening.

It's funny that people think that writers are philosophical beings who think about why the "Door is blue " or why' the character looked mildly sad when she saw her mother " when infact we are looking for synonyms for night.

Loss is just another way to gain. If you don't lose, then what are you gaining?

When people read they find broken parts of themselves. They heal and get closures to their own past selves, their worst nightmares. They feel the emanation of the poet ,making it a safe place for them.

Fear itself is maybe unexplainable, but I do know respect will forever preside. You will always be my father, but above all else.

Her footsteps bounces of the alley's walls. Unwelcoming, content. The dark lingers in the corner as if there just for her.

Waiting ...

Her stroll becomes urgent. The night had fallen and she needed to reach somewhere safe.

A sudden whoosh astonishes her.

Is that a dog's breath or a man's sinister hand...
