Rewatching Buck Begins and this is the first time I've noticed these lines in one of the early flashbacks:

Buck: They're really mad.

Maddie: They're not mad. They're - upset.

Buck: They were yelling. A lot.

Maddie: Sometimes people do that when they care too much. They overreact and they feel bad about it later.

Jesus, they really showed how Maddie's upbringing led her to an abusive marriage with that one little exchange, didn't they? The WRITING on this show, my god.
