kinda funny that the fandom that has been calling Lestat a dancing pony on amphetamines for years now is shocked and appalled when a season from Lestat's pov immediately feels like being inside the mind of a dancing pony on amphetamines

His name was Jarda Klapek
The Vampire Lestat | 3.01 “Detroit”
anyway something about Lestat's glib narration about how much he loves sex during the semi-public raunchy foursome juxtaposed with him quietly begging for his mother to simply come sit with him because he's in a bad place, confirming with her that he has no expectations, just wants her company, only for the episode to end with her showing up with the clear expectation on HER end that they would have sex and the stutter he's been avoiding talking about all episode long coming back at the very sight of her, his bravado crumbling within seconds. and the voiceover acknowledging that most people are still treating it like shocking gossip even though at the moment it felt like the only salvation he could grasp. yeah yeah yeah I'm sick
Is it true you were a stutterer as a child?

sam reid is a fucking comedian lmao
just in case you were unaware true love wasn’t invented until november 18th 2012 when season 3 episode 6 of the walking dead aired and in the last few minutes of the episode rick grimes walks out from the prison his survivor group has been staying in holding his newborn baby who’s mother just violently died and across the prison yard through the chain link fence sees michonne standing there like an angel holding baby formula she’d rescued, brought to them from his friends who’d been kidnapped by the rival survivor group, surrounded by zombies who aren’t biting her and who in the opening of the next episode he has to rescue…btw
expectations vs reality

when it comes to loustat (and louis and Lestat as characters) is there anything you wish they’d kept/keep from the books? and anything you really like that the show changed?
Hi anon, thanks for the question :)
honestly I had a really long and specific response typed out but now with s3 being so close and all these spoilers floating around I think my answer is that I'm just embracing the show for what it is 😂 Lestat is my favorite character in both the show and the books and I'm just hoping I love the show's interpretation moving forward as much as I love his book counterpart. I love show!Louis a lot, I think the writers and Jacob really understand the core of his character and brought him to new heights and I agree with the overall consensus that the changes they made to his character for this adaptation were for the better. Honestly I just can't wait to see what they do next with him!
Loustat were great in the books but they ARE the show by design and I think the show benefits from that choice - not just because I personally love the ship but because their relationship (+Claudia) becomes a very strong emotional anchor and narrative through-line whereas I think Anne was exploring a lot of themes through her characters - which was great for the books but I think television needs more structure as a medium. So honestly as long as I'm well fed with their scenes and we get *some* relationship development this season I'm good, even if we don't get one to one adaptations of some of their stronger scenes from the books! AMC!Loustat are very much informed by the books but are still their own thing and are better for it imo 😊
cinema and scriptwriting peaked here
when u realize all the infighting in the iwtv fandom will never stop because everyone's confirmation bias is so strong they're just going to insist the show is validating their interpretations on any given subject no matter what happens
begging all of you to just stop arguing with each other because no one is gonna change their minds 💔
do you guys ever think about that time someone On Here was like "man James Baldwin has some good takes but he's so pretentious about it" and then it was promptly revealed that they had no idea who James Baldwin was and they were under the impression he was some sort of contemporary blogger who they only knew from seeing him quoted on tumblr. I think about that constantly.
