Great explosions of muscular tissue damage are great... but I love valve damage and steronosis.

Blood rushing back exactly where the struggling heart is trying to move it from. The muscles aching and fighting in vain. The more the heart bucks and kicks the more blood regurgitated. Their limbs grow cold and grey, as does their lips. It's a slow process, getting worse and worse as it progresses. Each infraction compounding until they're left with a rapidly beating heart that pumps no blood.

Same anon with one last thing to say: muscular dystrophy or spinal muscular atrophy, the stage of weak but still functioning and moving. Ectopia cordis, no sternum, the heart is mostly inside the chest and covered by skin, pulsing alongside his stark ribs, disease making him worryingly skinny. His heart fluttering and just starting to struggle with the wasting, skipping a beat when it’s touched, or better yet, grabbed through the skin and harshly squeezed. Imagine how easy resus would be too, when that poor little thing finally gives up ❤️

Thoughts on torturing an already sick or injured character’s heart? Your heart failure patient clutching their chest, heart threatening to give up, because you purposefully lowered the oxygen concentration in his mask. Your muscular dystrophy patient weakly reaching for the ventilator you pulled from their tracheostomy. Deactivating your kidnapped victim’s ICD and forcing him to run up and down the hall, or worse, stairs. Turning off y another victim’s pacemaker and saying sure, he can have it back… if he earns it.

Or a mid/post other torture favorite of mine: cutting a victim’s chest open and forcing them to perform CPR on themselves.
