Hello, everyone!!! Hope y’all have having a great day so far!! @cateyesinlove and I are sooooooo excited to bring you this amazing new commission by the amazing and beautiful @moranatascia!! Elide and Elain are some of my absolute favorite SJM characters, and I’ve always thought that they would be such amazing friends, both are incredibly observant, smart, helped taken down the antagonist, and both are soft and comfortable in their femininity. The theme of Barbie Princess and the Pauper just fits both of them so well, so please enjoy this scene of them enjoy a nice little tea party in a garden!!

The audacity Sarah has to introduce Sartaq and Borte so late in the series. Two books is simply not enough

nestaq have to be sjm's most criminally underrated couple they are EVERYTHING and people don't give them their deserved flowers!!

nesryn is so overlooked by both the characters in the series and the fandom, but you know who never overlooked her? SARTAQ. he hears stories of all these big players doing insane things, like blowing up palaces and such, and you know what he focuses in on? NESRYN. he has ALWAYS seen and noticed nesryn.

and from the very first page that we meet sartaq in tower of dawn, he sees nesryn. he notices when she's upset by the news of what happened to rifthold, and he steps in for her. and truly seeing her becomes a pattern for him.

there's just something so beautiful to me about this girl who's been overlooked, in the background, always living for other people, and never feeling at home, finding a place that feels like home to her and a person who feels like home, a person who truly sees her, a person who even when he heard stories of all these other people using their powers and doing great things, honed in on HER and thought she was the coolest person ever, and he was willing to give up everything for her.

reading about nesryn finding belonging and opening up to others and going on adventures with the ruhkin and finding family with them and then also love and belonging and home with sartaq is SO BEAUTIFUL to me and I cannot believe people don't care about them.

I’m on Crown of Midnight in my reread and I was thinking to myself how I was impressed that even though I’m a die hard rowaelin, I’m still finding the chaol and aelin moments to be quite sweet and endearing

And then the Nehemia stuff happened and it’s just reminding me how the text painted chaol as almost too good to be true for aelin so that when everything happened, he had such a fall from grace and we are shown that it was actually always Dorian who had her back from day 1 :(( chaol was so present romantically but it was Dorian who even when he felt rejected by aelin was still always there :(( and then aelin was always looking out for him too :((

So I’m rereading Tog rn and I decided to search up what “Celaena” and “Aelin” mean bc I was curious, they mean “dark” and “light”

Yes people love to talk about the princess who loved her kingdom but im here mourning the princess who never knew she had a kingdom or a legacy. she was single handedly destroying everything and everyone related to that kingdom because she didn’t know who she really was and was manipulated into becoming the weapon that ensured none of her people stayed alive even if she arrived at her kingdom

I still mourn the queen who arrived at her kingdom without anyone she loves by her side, because they all sacrificed themselves so that she can return to her kingdom and rule it

can we please talk about how important Rowan’s trauma is to not only the book series in general, but also his character and his relationship with Aelin? Like he is actually a very sentimental man. He is so traumatized by what happened to his family that we have this person who wants to remember all the good moments with her, with his friends. Yes, his trauma hardened him, and he cut himself off from those people because of his pain, but once he and Aelin realized through each other that they could enjoy life beyond the pain they once experienced, we see how much he values the people in his life. Like he is wise, and caring, and has so much infinite love that he never got to share with the people he lost. Yes, he would literally do anything for Aelin, but he also loves his friends, he cares about the world, and Aelin heightens that for him. Aelin brought him back to life just as much as he did for her. Because he got to see himself as a friend again, a person who can make a difference in the world. He has so much compassion, and I literally cannot stop thinking about how much he gained after Aelin made him see how the world could be. He saw himself as a good man again. I am so emotional about Rowan Whitethorn I can’t. Ok rant over I just love him.
