"Why do you talk so much about being intersex?"
Over 90% of parents of visibly intersex children opt for cosmetic surgery on their infants.
The ones that don't experience medical violence then, likely experience it as a teenager.
I didn't.
I am very rare in that I did not experience medical violence.
Why? Because I learned what intersexuality was as a young age, and I actively fought against what doctors wanted to do to me. All the way down to legal research on what medical care minors can be forced into. I remember walking into that doctor's appointment with the state law written down that proved that if I did not consent they could not do surgery.
That is why intersex activism is important. It saved me and it will save more.

Sometimes I love my grandma too much and want to fight ladies that say "well she got that from a recipe" as old lady shade to someone that cooked something good but had to use a recipe to do it, instead of instincts guiding her hand like a proper woman I guess. Because my grandma had a stroke when I was barely born and apparently lost memory of cooking and English and it took her a while to speak again. But when she was with us I got really into baking and cooking and shed watch me and correct me, saying she didn't remember the recipe but knew I was over mixing or not forming the tamales or tortillas just right. One day she pointed at the back of the oatmeal box that I needed to make that recipe and I did. Same thing when I went shopping with her and she grabbed some German chocolate and told me to follow the recipe on the back for the best German chocolate cake for my dad. Then I started getting great compliments from cousins and uncles that "oh wow amazing how did you make these cookies just like grandma used to did she share the secret recipes she forgot" and I would shrug and point at the box and tell them that's what Grandma told me to do, and they'd think I was lying that no box recipe could copy and grandma must have told me a secret ingredient. And grandma would just defend me and it was all me just being a great baker. Then once she told me her secret when we were alone, that she actually learned how to cook and bake by following whatever recipes were on the back of the flour bag or whatever box of cream cheese. Because tragically her mother died young and she had to learn how to feed all her children on her own with only one aunt to help out. So of course she learned from simple recipes on the back of boxes but no one ever believed her, her sister in laws thought she was being sly not telling them the truth, so I shouldn't tell anyone the truth either.
Anyway tldr try the recipe on the back of the classic oatmeal box for some oatmeal cookies and you can all have my grandma's secret cookies it's really good and I love her.
Servant: Your highness, a party of adventurers has answered your call for help.
King: Excellent. What are they like?
Servant: One of them is a dragon-lady.
King: Interesting. Those are rare around these parts.
Servant: Another is a goblin paladin.
King: Not a role you usually see goblins in.
Servant: A third is a purple-skinned tiefling.
King: I didn't even know they come in that color.
Servant: The last one is a sapient gelatinous cube.
King: What. How did these four even meet?
Servant: They met in a tavern two hours ago, apparently.
Queen: My love, please return to bed.
King: *pacing* Why would a gelatinous cube come to a tavern? Can it even get drunk? How did it fit through the doors?
All-cubes party
Which character would you play?
Dragon-lady
Goblin paladin
Purple-skinned tiefling
Sapient gelatinous cube
Hypothesis debunked.
I'm not even disappointed about being wrong, I love that it's kinda evenly balanced?
(The Dragon-lady got my vote too lmao, shouldn't have underestimated the amount of lesbians and strong-woman-kinners on this site)
All four of them are women (including the cube)
this is actually like my third or fourth rodeo so i sort of get it but sort of dont
in some ways worse than my first rodeo cause i feel like i should be better at it by now
can non natives stop acting surprised and performatively jokey "uhh what lol!" about ice going after native americans. theyve been doing this for years and it ramped up last year and i had to hear all the stupid "uhhhh where will u deport them to 😜 silly republicans!" comments as if its not always been about detaining torturing murdering using as slave labor scattering communities through fear and intimidation etc. be an adult and act with maturity please. its not quirky or confusing its directly in line with americas racism and white supremacy to make sure native americans are eradicated
[Video transcript:] Person angrily yelling: “–fucking computers bullshit. It’s fucking sick! It’s not cool anymore! It’s not fun! It’s not fun to be on the fucking computer! They changed everything about it! It used to be so coooool!”
literally saying this every day of my life
"Why not make female heroes more feminine so girls know you don't have to be masculine to save the world" is misguided. The target audience of heroic adventure genre is not children who actually save the world in a literal sense, it's children who want a cathartic outlet for the struggles and injustice they face. And one of the most common types of injustice that many girls and children assumed to be girls are subjected to is forced feminization.

The bird app has a lot of garbage but this thread really tickled me this morning:
