discussions around Kierarktina are always so interesting because I do think its one of those love triangles where what each side represents (for Mark) is arguably the biggest and perhaps only reason it exists. a love triangle being used to represent two alternate paths a character can take is kinda of love triangles as a trope 101 (look at The Hunger Games & Gale and Peeta represent for Katniss & her attitude towards the Capital/Rebellion), which is like, very obviously what is happening here and why both of their relationships with Mark are prioritised by the narrative. Kieran represents Faeries and the Wild Hunt, Cristina represents Shadowhunters and is being incorporated into the Blackthorns™ with or without Mark — they are the two halves of who Mark is. You can see this in which parent Mark takes the role of in these relationships too, he gets compared to Andrew by the Unseelie King by breaking Kieran’s heart and with Cristina he is most like Nerissa (which also happens with Helen and Aline). In order for Mark’s character arc to be completed he has to choose both, Kieran and Crisitina, to be Faerie and Shadowhunter even if it's unconventional or disliked. does this mean Kieran and Cristina gets the short stick? yes. but their relationship just isn't thematically relevant the same way, which I think is an interesting aspect of all this.

The concept of Julian Blackthorn finding out that his little sister has been kidnapped and taken to Faerie by Sebastian 2.0 and Sebastian’s son, and now resides in the Seelie Queen’s clutches.

The concept of Julian Blackthorn finding out that his other little sister, who was murdered, has never actually been at rest. That she’s been a ghost for all these years, forced to watch in agony as her family grows up and lives their lives while she sits stuck in time.

The concept of Julian Blackthorn finding out that his little brother, who he thought was coping well from the loss of his twin sister, attempted to raise said sister at 15 years old, forming a spiritual bond between the two of them which he kept secret for all these years, causing irreparable and world changing damage. Is now slowly deteriorating from that bond and dying.

I have sensible TWP theories (the series will end with shadowhunters becoming obsolete after all demons are closed off/killed, and everyone lives out happy lives as humans) and crackhead theories (Johnny rook was actually belial)*

*cause if you think about it. Cassie keeps stressing how current belial is totally different from TLH aka not related to Tessa and her blackthorn descendants (and therefore if he was Kit’s father, making Kit not related to Ty). Belial wanted nothing more than to live among humans, or as one?! Rosemary’s hatred of shadowhunters would def be compatible with his. New Belial supposedly doesn’t care about the same things as old belial, and supposedly doesn’t care about the herondales yet was hanging around Roland and Auraline, seemingly knowing a good amount about their situation. Kit can fire a gun previously only able to be fired by a male heir of Belial. We still know really nothing about Johnny Rook, except for the possible shadowhunter lineage rumors and the shapeshifting magic (which is belial’s main thing). Lastly, belial’s domain is deceit and necromancy (one being Johnny rook’s speciality and the other being the thing he helped Malcolm Fade with)

something else CC mentioned in that livestream that got completely obscured by the fandom wide crash out about Ty but deserves to be discussed is her saying Kit always has a con going on (referenced in relation to him being the character most suited for Holly’s world of Faerie). Which is interesting because she mentioned it like it was a current aspect of his character rather than something he’s grown away from which is something I’ve wondered about since that’s the vibes I’ve gotten sometimes from post-QOAAD material. But also… what does that mean. I've mused before about the ending of TDA, where Julian largely abandons his ruthlessness & what that could mean for the TWP characters in the fall out of that not really working… like do they all become more ruthless as a consequence because being the bigger person didn't solve anything, but being willing to be the “bad” guy might? Do they all have a scheme up their sleeve (to various degrees of success), a lie held close to their chest?
