A trip down memory rain âĄ
I am super against light pollution, and have been for decades
but I am also super annoyed by the way it's framed as "without light pollution you can see how beautiful the night sky is" way more prominently than it's framed as "hey, did you ever stop to think of how much energy/resources/money are literally wasted by having so much light shine up into the sky?"
so people get the idea that light pollution can only be remedied by eliminating all night-time light, which would make being outside at night very inconvenient, instead of by making night-time light shine only on the ground where, y'know, the people who need it are
The mildest example of what OP's talking about in Dunedin, Aotearoa:
This is just with the streetlamp equivalent of using lampshades. Imagine what truly directional city lights could achieve?
Reblogging this again cause light pollution actually have negative health affects on humans and wildlife. We weren't meant to live in a world constantly bathed in light.
Itâs called âbeing able to see the corpseâ
So if I put you in an L-shaped swimming pool, and you knew there was a corpse around the corner, you'd be fine?
loving the implication that I'm a little animal and you're a scientist putting me into various bodies of water to test my corpse:water ratio tolerance
Oh shit this is a rare chance to reblog this!! This only comes on the calendar once every couple of years!!
The feminine urge to be the man my father never was
ppl will say "demisexual and demiromantic apply to literally everyone why is it a label" and then play smash or pass, see people on the street and comment to their friends how attractive they are, meet someone at a bar and ask them on a date, start talking to someone in the hopes that it will end up sexual/romantic one day
like bro. an actual lack of attraction until a serious connection has formed is not the same thing as wanting to get to know someone before you have sex or date them.
I think itâs important for people to understand that while antisemitism isnât the same as racism itâs so closely linked that to truly understand the two you need to understand the other. Thatâs why racist Jews and antisemitic bipoc are just hurting themselves. Iâm not the most knowledge on the subjects so Iâm absolutely sure others have said it better I just think itâs something important to think about
Why are so many people convinced that babies are trying to manipulate them? Theyâre babies. They literally donât know how to do anything except suck and scream and be confused. Theyâre not âmanipulatingâ you. Theyâre experiencing extreme back pain.
Did you know that? That babies get back pain? They can grow over an inch in one day. Their bones are stretching and it hurts a lot and they donât know why. Give them a break.
Also, people get so mad at toddlers for being upset. The toddlers are the ones who have never been angry before and are learning how to deal with it. Youâre the adult who has had decades to learn how to deal with your emotions. Do you expect someone to know how to play piano on day one with no training? No? Then why do you expect the same thing with the entirety of how to be a human? You only think that walking is easy because youâve been doing it for decades.
If you canât deal with your emotions about what a freaking toddler is doing around you to the point where you feel that you have to beat them or scream at them, maybe youâre the one who needs to go back to preschool so you can be taught how to use your words.

this scene was 10x more emotional and romantic than any scene between them and those boys
Three things to unpack
1- ENID MADE IT ENID MADE IT ENID MADE IT
2- Wednesday is soft enough to act like she likes it and calls it special
3- Wednesday says sheâll wear to a funeral, probably the most important event for an Addams
