So fun fact, if you click on the car again after she says this, the game will actually let you drive away. There's a different driveway animation with Jim Archer's car still parked by the side of the road, and it will still be there when you come back. I found this out today playing with my boyfriend who likes doing things out of order and told me to click on the car again. It literally never occurred to me prior to today that that was possible lol. Spent a good ten minutes driving everywhere in town, there are different audio clips for every single place than what you get showing up for the first time with a telegram!

It was a real treat to do something brand new in a game I've played ten million times lol

i'm really such a big fan of how the nancy drew and hardy boys ghostwriters were apparently required to end as many chapters on a cliff hanger as possible, because that just means you get shit like "nancy gasped as something flew towards her head!" and then you turn the page and it says "the piece of paper that was floating through the air hit her gently in the face"

When i was nine, I used to decide which nancy drew books I wanted to check out from the library next by reading the last sentence of each chapter and going with the ones that were the most unhinged or suspenseful. I craved chaos.
