The amount of disbelief I’m willing to suspend is directly proportional to how entertaining the show is. If a show is barely able to hold my attention and has betrayed my trust before, fuck you, that’s not how cutting someone’s head off works.
If I’m glued to my seat every week and can’t stop watching, then yes, absolutely, the professional athlete in a blond wig is indistinguishable from the 17 year old lead actress.
I came across an interesting Reddit post where a Redditor was angry that their great uncle’s FindAGrave biography mentioned that their uncle had died in a domestic violence murder-suicide, killing his girlfriend (the mother of two young sons) and then taking his own life. The event happened decades ago but the sons and the grandchildren of the woman his great uncle killed could still be alive. It is common for newspaper article clippings and explanations of the decedent’s circumstances to be included in the FindAGrave entries of murderers, the descendants of murder victims seem to support this, additionally, there is an argument that this is important so that passersbys understand why certain graves are set apart and do not have flowers and do not feel undue sympathy. The person who edited the entry to describe the Redditor’s great uncle’s crimes was likely a local who remembered the act or a descendant of the woman who he killed but the Redditor was highly offended though the information was factual. I’m wondering how everyone feels about this.
Should FindAGrave biographies contain factual information about the decedent’s heinous crime(s) when applicable?
Yes, it is a matter of public record & vital biographical info.
It should be the choice of the descendants of the victim of the act.
It should be the choice of the descendants of the perpetrator, like the Redditor
No, never. Let the dead rest in peace.
Something else (leave in tags or replies).
I don’t know enough about this/I’m undecided.
I will say, I think it is very interesting that the graves of famous outlaws always mention that they are famous outlaws with no pushback but this person can’t stand the idea that everyone knows his great uncle was a piece of shit who killed an innocent woman. Additionally, one of my ancestors was a murderer (though it was allegedly a semi-justifiable act of revenge) and I would not care if someone edited her bio to mention that.

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
This opens up a lot of possibilities for what a haiku can be
I'm sorry guys I know no one is going to want to hear this but I just got resuscitated after being dead for 5 minutes and it turns out hazbin hotel is true
Why do people treat near death visions and hallucinations as anything other than identical to dreaming?
I know some people take even dreams seriously, but it concerns me when I think about how people believe near-death or short-death experiences are somehow different or more true??
honestly an incredibly disrespectful and tasteless comment to make on my post about my very real experience of dying and going to hazbin hotel
Literally amazing that there’s a predator that goes “mrrp” and you’re allowed to have one in your house
the thing about being bullied for being weird as a kid is that even if you've always embraced being weird your brain is still always looking for the line where it's too much. you can be as proudly and intentionally weird as you want and you can love being weird but your mind is still convinced there's a point where you get too weird and people start treating you like a weird looking bug again. also it feels like you reach that point 500 times a day even if everyone you've spoken to today found you pleasant and likable and even if you're completely alone in your house with nobody looking at you at all.

Chainmoker Cat and Bojack Horseman are now the two only items in my list of "shows that are actually fucking amazing but which I wouldn't recommend to anyone."
I haven't seen Bojack Horseman yet but I can say I'll recommend Chainsmoker Cat not as an enjoyable watch but as a depiction of addiction that is neither cool nor cute.
Do not go into Chainsmoker Cat with the plan to be amused unless you like gross out humor, and even then, if you have any empathy you're going to pity her.
It's amazing and I think everyone should watch it... But not as an enjoyable watch
Honestly, having watched the first five episodes, I was initally surprised that the protagonist is consistently doing better than I was doing at my worst. Sure, the rock bottom is the same, materially speaking, but who in the ever-loving fuck has a sister who's willing to buy a hazmat suit to come take care of you in your nasty-ass home when you're sick??
I fully went in assuming that there would be a lot more plotlines boiling down to "local woman goes into insane lengths to make sure that absolutely nobody knows how badly she is living because the only thing that could make it worse would be having anyone witness it", but she's got a fucking support network (mainly consisting of peers who aren't doing any better but still)?? She's got a healthy attitude about it and reminds herself that she's not a bad person just because she's got no life management skills?? She has family and loved ones who know how badly she's doing and still want to help instead of shaming her for making them look bad in association???
Insane what a world of difference it makes when you're not ashamed of being a loser and have loser buddies to be losers with, instead of hiding in isolation from your better-doing friends out of shame and clinging to abusers out of desperation.
There's a segment of population to whom Chainsmoker Cat is a cozy wish-fulfillment fantasy kind of show.

i completely understand & agree with the backlash against students using chatgpt to get degrees but some of you are out here saying "getting a degree in xyz means pulling multiple consecutive all-nighters and writing essays through debilitating migraines and having severe back pain from constantly studying at your desk and chugging energy drinks until you get a kidney stone and waking up wishing you were dead every day, and that's just part of the natural process of learning!!!" and like. umm. i don't think that any of us should have had to endure that either. like maybe the solution for stopping students from using anti-learning software depends on college institutions making the process of learning actually sustainable on the human body & mind rather than a grueling health-destroying soul-crushing endeavor
