I have been a fan of @teejaystumbles (TashinaKalmbach) for years now and I especially love her comic Behind the Obsidian Mirror. I've always wanted to draw her character designs for the Aztec gods Mictlantecuhtli and Tezcatlipoca, and I'm so happy that I finally completed this piece!  Tashina, thank you for creating such a wonderful comic and beautiful art. I hope I did Mic & Tez justice!

This originally was going to be a simple Inktober (2019) piece, but I never finished it in time. I'm glad because I got to spend more time experimenting and putting in more details, especially with the skin and outfits. I pieced together a bunch of my favorite outfit designs she has used in her comic and I really like how the elements all came together. I'm still a little concerned about their anatomy, but I tried my best with the random references I used.

JOCKS! Based on the Greens' senior year sports (lacrosse & volleyball)!

This is dedicated to @racketballz​ because she just had a birthday and is one of my biggest inspirations! Also, "my" Buttercup & Butch are based on rb’s designs!

Two versions (short & long hair) because they start senior year the chapter before all the hair cuts! (Side note: I wanted to do a proper background, but my artistic stamina gave out lol)

I used tons of references, mainly rb’s work haha, but I also used a photo from @/hongrieck (on insta) for Buttercup’s pose/outfit!

Sugar, spice, and everything nice

I started this a year ago, but I finally had the inspiration/motivation to finish it after rereading sbj’s More Than Human fic (new chapters yay!!) and obsessing over @racketballz​ fanart (thank you for blessing us with your work).

I’m not entirely satisfied with this piece mainly because of the long break between starting and finishing it. Also, I debated on the trio’s skin tones a lot, but I ultimately couldn’t visualize these girls any other way after seeing racketballz’s fanart. Still wanna play around and adjust how I draw them, especially Blossom and Bubbles.

Well, technically they’ve been around for a while, but I am so happy that Banana Fish is drawing in such a large crowd! I used these photos of Hironobu Nomura and River Phoenix for basic reference since Akimi Yoshida, the mangaka, used these famous 80s actors for her character design inspiration!
