SPOILERS (sort of)
Welp my favourite killed my favourite...
at least no one abstracted...?
Snow White is one of the strongest disney princesses and YES i WILL elaborate on a hours long tangeant about the sexism associated with considering femininity as weak and its ramifications in the portrayal of strong female characters over the decades if prompted and it WILL look like this
So i just finnished Undertale for the first time, felt nostalgic.
I've been a fan since i found jackcepticeyes playthroughts back in 2020-21? and i instantly realised this wasnt just any other game. To be brief, I was not in the best headspace then, i didnt really have the energy to keep going, so to see a game all about the unwillingness to give up in the face of... well... everything, it really did stick with me (and made me cry like a baby).
So, its 2026, im no longer an anxious tween and i realize i can buy whatever i want, so i bought it off steam. Tbh, i didnt remember everything so eventhough i kind of knew what was going to happen, there were still lots of surprises.
It was just as charming as i remembered, i felt like a preteen again discovering this game for the first time because i kind of was. The true magic of undertale is playing it yourself and discovering all the little things about it. Some parts i knew were gonna happen and i still laughed when they did, others caught me completely by surprise and were even better.
And then i got to the end and read the phrase that has been stuck to my mirror for the past 5 years "despite everything, its still you." . It just felt like a full circle moment. I dont want to be dramatic but this game really did change my perspective on things and helped me get better when i was at my lowest.
Amazing game, peak characters, peak soudtrack, peak everything people are not kidding when they say its a lifechanger lol
"OMG wlw, mlm or wlm??"
Doomed
"What?"
Doomed
"We need more complex female characters" then stop calling them "sluts", "pick mes", "unreasonable", "evil", "bops", "psycotic", "atencion seekers" and most importantly "bitches" for actions a male character would've be praised or at least understood for.
So many great characters with complex emotions, who do morally grey things represent so many girls' quirks, struggles and flaws out there but they are overlooked and hated because they had the misfortune of being women.
