Camille Kane was desperate when they took the job; not only was he botheredāfor some reason he couldn't nameāby the eyes of the head of the institute, who he interviewed with, but who in their right mind would take a job at the Magnus Institute? They had heard the stories, and they didn't like them. It didn't help that his new boss looked at him so strangely.
Even now, coming on a decade later, he still couldn't quite place what it was, the emotions he saw in those piercing gray eyes.
