Would there be a rise in eating disorders in a zombie apocalypse?

Think about it. You're living in a compound, and other people are more deserving of food than you. A mother with her baby, an old man, young children, the injured, the fighters.. wouldn't you feel guilty for taking up space and eating?

What if you were traveling alone instead? Everyone fights over food; you have to keep supplies hidden well, protect it with your life because your supplies are the only things keeping you alive. You'd start to get ravenous and protective over any food you find. Filled with fear and gluttony, you'd want to consume all you could as soon as possible to ensure nobody else could claim it. (If you're overtaken with emotion and not logic.) It's an emotional escape. You'd probably cry after binging, knowing you have no food left, but it sorta makes sense to me.

I feel like starving, an0r3xia, or something of the sort would be more common, though. Knowing you have a limited supply, wanting to save it as long as possible. You'd eat smaller and smaller portions. You'd slowly starve yourself. Eventually, your ability to feel hunger would fade, replaced by nothingness. You wouldn't have the motivation to eat, scared you'd take too much and kịll yourself or anyone else you cared for that was surviving off of the supply.

Eating disorders in the apocalypse seem likely to me...

I never know how to bring up my potential neurodivergence. All my immediate family has ADHD, but sometimes it's like... isn't this just normal for everyone? Is your family really not like this?

And sure, I've never gotten an official diagnosis, but I've always had a feeling. Especially when my first appointment with my current therapist she went, "Are you sure that's not ADHD?"

Like atp, I don't think I even need a diagnosis to know. But maybe it would help.

Idk I just feel like maybe I need medication bc, even tho it doesn't seem like it, esp with my high grades, I do struggle to focus and build motivation for tasks.

Hey everyone, I know it's going to be a busy day for a lot of people, but Google enrolled everyone over 18 into their AI program automatically.

If you have a google account, first go to gemini.google.com/extensions and turn everything off.

Then you need to go to myactivity.google.com/product/gemini and turn off all Gemini activity tracking. You do have to do them in that order to make sure it works.

Honestly, I'm not sure how long this will last, but this should keep Gemini off your projects for a bit.

More detail instructions for OP's post for those who are confused. This is done from the browser on my laptop, I don't know what they look like on phones.

When you click the first link gemini.google.com/extensions, you need to click on the setting icon at the bottom, then choose "Extension", like this:

Scroll down a bit, you will see the options, turn them all off.

Then, you click on the second link myactivity.google.com/product/gemini, you'll see it tells you that it's already "turn off". NO! IT'S NOT! You have to click on that "Turn off" option, it'll drop down a menu like this:

Turn that thing off. Until that button shows you have to click to turn it back on like this:

And then, click on the delete button down there too, even if it says there's nothing to delete, just do it as a caution.

After you's done with those two. You go to your Drive, find the Setting button.

Click on the "Privacy" tab, choose the button "Manage Workspace smart feature setting"

Tick both of those off, then click Save. Or if you still want to use Google AI assistant for some reasons, please read the fine lines very very carefully.

Only then, you can feel safe enough with this force AI assistant bullshit. FOR NOW 🤡 All these steps still can't get rid of that Gemini blinkblink icon though >:(((((

I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.

Reblog this to keep other users aware. Suicide isn’t a joke, and neither is someone’s life. If you didn’t know this, someone else may not, either. Pass it on.

@ everyone in the notes talking about physical performance: if that were the case, then sports would be divided by physical performance. that’s a thing you can measure. that’s a thing that varies by individual. a weak man and a strong man would be an unfair fight in boxing/wrestling/MMA, which is why they divide those sports up into weight groups based on physical performance. but they also further segregate them based on gender. chess is segregated by gender for no reason but sexism. if it’s actually about skill and physical ability, then measure those and separate people by those metrics. don’t do some bullshit gender segregation and pretend like men and women are inherently on different levels no matter their individual abilities.
