It might take forever to actually make any money, but the process is not only educational, but a little exciting too.
Why Declawing is a Bad Idea (An 1-minute guide)

Why we never declawed at the cat shelter I worked at.
Also, it can cause males to spray, sorta. Makes them more aggressive in other areas to make up for not having claws.
Fruitarianism
I’m thinking about becoming a fruitarian!
I’m doing some of my own research, but I wanted to see what fruitarians out there had to say :). I have a some questions:
I am already a raw vegan, so what are some good reasons to become a fruitarian?
Why do most fruitarians not eat grains, nuts, or vegetables?
Any general advice or tips?
I have to say, I've never heard of this "fruitarians not eating: etc, etc..." At least for nuts and veggies. All of the people I follow for fruitarianism (like older people who basically invented it), do eat nuts, and green veggies - kale, lettuce, etc. Even to the point of soaking nuts overnight and making nut butters with it in the morning. Using lettuce in place of tortillas, etc.
Just the BASE of the diet, where others would eat veggies, for example. Is made of FRUIT. Say, half a water melon or a nice smoothie, or fresh juice for breakfast, followed by a smoothie or nut butter "sandwich" (lettuce as outer cover) for lunch. and a big fruit salad for dinner, with fruit or veggies in between as snacks.
A big thing while you're transistioning from cooked foods to raw is to cook something small and put it in a big raw salad so you have the best of both worlds, with the raw foods comprising of more than the cooked foods.
Grain is just not really done after it's a seed. Maybe when it's still a plant, like wheatgrasss, barleygrass, etc. Still a green plant. A lot of it seems to really be whether it's foragable. Most fruits and vegetables are pretty easy to forage for, whereas grains are more like "wait until the plant gets old, then shake the rice out of the grass stalk and cook it like it is or grind it in a mortar and cook it liek a pancake."
Also, the body is made to digest the sugars from fruits more naturally, whereas grain carbs are taken in and the body doesn't know what to do with it so it stores it as fat instead of using the energy.
But the concensus I've seen is pretty much, fruits, nuts, veggies: yes. Grains and anything cooked: no. Google Hygeia Halfmoon, Nature's First Law, and Raw Fruitarianism for more in-depth info.
This is just what I've gotten form reading literature put out by nature's first law's publishing.

YUMMY!
Spicy Honey Glazed Chicken
Yield:8 chicken thighs
Prep Time:10 minutes
Cook Time:15 - 20 minutes
Total Time:25 - 30 minutes
Ingredients:
1 package boneless skinless chicken thighs (you should get about 8 thighs per package) 1 teaspoon kosher salt 1 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes 1 teaspoon chili powder 2 teaspoons paprika 2 teaspoons garlic powder 1/2 cup honey 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
Source: Nutmeg Nanny
Directions:
Mix spices together and set aside.
Mix honey and cider vinegar and set aside.
Un-tuck chicken thighs so they are flat. Cover both sides in seasoning, set flat onto sheet pan. When all chicken as been seasoned put under broiler* (I put mine on low just so I don't worry about burning the chicken)
Cook for 5-7 minutes on one side and flip. Cook for a 5-7 minutes on other side. Flip again and then baste the chicken in honey/cider mixture. Be sure to really get the chicken covered. Add to oven again and let it cook under the broiler for a few minutes until the honey starts to thicken up and glaze. It may smoke a little but this is completely normal.
Take chicken out of oven and let rest for a few minutes before devouring. You don't want to burn your mouth with all that hot honey glaze!
* If you have a gas oven and your broiler is at the bottom you can bake the chicken at 400 degrees for about 15 - 20 mins.
I HOPE THIS HELPS ANYONE WANTING TO SWITCH TO CLOTH!
I spent 70 fucking dollars on diapers today.
IS IT TOO LATE TO SWITCH TO CLOTH!?!?!
NEVER TOO LATE!!
Actually $70 could get you a pretty OK stash. Prefolds from www.babybestbuy.com $20 for 24, and some Kawaii covers from Sweetbottoms Baby about $39 for 6 (you can get them cheaper at the Kawaii site www.theluvyourbaby.com but you have to spend $80 for free shipping there, www.superstash.net also has good prices, but you pay shipping under $70) Sweetbottoms has free shipping and it gets to you like SUPER SUPER fast. And then get some Snappis - I found mine on amazon $15 for 6, but you can get away with 1 of each size ($4/ea). Or get diaper pins for $1/6-pack. (on older babies you don't even need to closures, you just close the cover over the prefold and the cover should keep in it place.
As for wipes, I made 30 flannel wipes from a $1 piece of flannel from Savers. (probably wil have to surge/hem the edges.) Or you can get 4-packs of baby washcloths from WalMart for $1, or 18-packs of normal size washcloths are $4 right now at WalMart. Or use old tshirts lying around the house (my hubby has a ton that need chopping up for something!!)
So you can really diaper your baby from 12lbs-potty training for about $71ish realistically!! (and even cheaper if you just cut up old tshirts as wipes and forgo the Snappis for pins, or if your baby is big enough to skip pins/snappis) In that case the $58 for the diapers and covers is all you would need for a good stash. Maybe an extra pack of the prefolds, or buy 2 extra absortbant and one pack of regular prefolds. But 24 diapers and 6 covers is really about the minimum amount to comfortably wash every other day.
