1. I can afford the top meal. It costs roughly $4.80 while the bottom costs upwards of $15-20. $15 is a lot of money to have all at one time, even if there will be leftovers. Not everyone will have access to that lump sum.
2. The top meal requires no preparation. If I am already out of my house, I can buy it without having to cut up any of the foods, arrange them, or cook them myself. I don’t even have to worry about having my own dishes or needing to wash them afterward.
3. The top meal requires no storage. There is little chance of having leftovers, therefore I don’t have to worry about the extra food going bad before I have the opportunity to eat it. With the bottom meal, I need to have a working refrigerator, space in my cupboard, as well as a working knowledge of how each different food needs to be stored. I’m out of luck if I don’t have enough space or storage containers for each item.
4. Visiting a fast food restaurant, even for a few minutes, means that I have access to bathrooms, heating/air conditioning, running water, wi-fi, electric outlets, a safe place to sit, and often a place for children to safely play. It provides me with an environment which is comfortable and protected, as well as one where I can eat my food and rest for an extended period of time. I cannot sit around a supermarket and expect the same sort of resources.
Eating healthy is a difficult process. One choice will not always be better than the other - While everyone knows that fast food is not incredibly healthy or good for the body, it is still useful and accessible to many people. There’s nothing wrong with eating it. Sometimes we have to accept that it genuinely is the better choice for certain situations.
I hate this because 1) it’s cheaper to be vegan 2) crack me open a can of beans man. Or maybe an Apple , fruit, literally their are so many things you can eat that doesn’t take any time to prepare :l 3) *eats all the beans so there is no leftovers* also who says u need to have leftovers??? Or like that’s a bad thing. Maybe clean out your fridge? 4) literally there are so many better places to go that have bathrooms and shit that is better than mcdonald’s
ok but whos gonna pick up an apple or can of beans as opposed to buying a FULL MEAL for cheap? that’s illogical. and they got apple slices at mcdonalds..
I live off of 20$ a week for food and I never eat at fast food restaurants and am living on a completely vegan diet :( . It’s not illogical or impossible to do. people have to stop coming up with excuses like this.
that’s…fabulous for YOU. it really is. but not everyone is vegan lol….furthermore some people have less than that to spend on food so they have to get it how they make it and eating vegan is hard to do if you live in certain areas
A lot of the poorest people in the world are vegetarian because its cheaper. You can still get more vegan food with the money you spend at mcdonald’s I promise you. Their are farmers markets everywhere, every store sells vegan foods. There is such a large selection for cheap it’s not hard. Eating meat and mcdonald’s will also cost more in medical bills over the long run too. Especially heart conditions. And If you got to eat fast food, taco bell sells bean burritos for dirt cheap with no animals added.
I’m not telling you or anyone to change your diet, I’m just disproving OPs argument because it doesn’t make sense tbh.
what dont you understand about veganism not being an accesible option to everyone? some people literally CANNOT eat vegan because they dont have the means to do it and…that’s making you..upset? i cannot believe you just tried to aggressively sell veganism to me in this post lol like. No. i dont want to spend my $3 on cardboard and dried apple skins.
Please point me to someone who actually can’t find ANY vegan or vegetarian products but can find a mcdonald’s ): . I’m not trying to sell you on anything , you were the one who initially responded to me I was again just making a comment on what OP had to say. Which is just excuses. And if those people do exist , no it doesn’t make me mad they are being forced to only eat meat products, everyone needs to eat. But it does make me mad when people ignore the problems with animal agriculture and how it’s destroying our planet. But that’s fine, spend your 3$ on whatever you want.
It's not that they can't physically find vegetables, it's that they are not accessible (price) or they cannot find enough nutrient-dense vegan/vegetarian products to have a healthy and filling diet. You can have a fast food meal for $5, or one head of cauliflower for $5.
Being able to worry about the problems of animal agriculture and the destruction of our planet is much easier when you don't have to worry about having enough food.
