Sokka + Toph + Lin + Suyin headcanons
As we all know, Toph gives her daughters too much freedom but Sokka would hold them back and set a limit in some things
Suyin's earthbending came out late that they thought she's a non-bender, so Sokka trained her in sword fighting and in handling boomerangs
Suyin would always accidentally hit someone with a boomerang, and it's mostly Toph
During their day-offs, they would go out together and Sokka would carry Suyin on his shoulders and Lin would get jealous so Toph does the same to Lin (she doesn't mind the weight)
Toph is strict in teaching the kids earthbending as she was to Aang. Lin and Suyin would stay up late until they master their seismic senses and cry but Sokka is there to tell them to take a rest and reassure them that they're gonna do great
When Suyin was born, Lin got a little grumpy because she wanted both Toph's and Sokka's attention, seeing that Lin felt unfair, Sokka would take Lin on a one-on-one father and daughter date
Toph always returns home by midnight and the kids always gets bored while waiting for her (they insist) so Sokka takes them to Toph's office and they walk home together
Toph and Sokka would tell their adventures during the 100-year war every night and Lin and Suyin never gets bored even after listening to it a hundred times
Sokka takes Toph and the girls to pro-bending matches and Toph doesn't quite enjoy it because she can only hear what's happening but the kids enjoy it a lot
No one would ever dare to be mean at both Lin and Suyin, not because they're great earthbenders, but because their mother is the Chief of Police and their father is the councilman. It's something they're proud of
Toph gives her daughters unusual but sweet nicknames like âcabbage patchâ, âcuddle bugâ, âtiny badgermoleâ, âgiggle monsterâ, âkickin chickenâ and more
They have a specific âfamily songâ and when it plays, they would dance and sing enthusiastically
The whole place would rumble at 2 am and the next thing Toph and Sokka know, the girls are having a supposedly secret earthbending duel
After sending the girls to their playdate with Bumi, Kya and Tenzin, Sokka takes Toph on a date. Different places each date
Lin is forced to go on the playdate because Suyin would throw tantrums if Lin won't go with her
Like almost everyone else, Lin and Suyin sometimes forget that their mother is blind
