true damage was... ok..
Things i liked :
Animation was fire and lowkey reminded me of a late 90's/early 2000's cartoon ;
Thutmose ans Soeyon destroyed it... their verses are just sooo good ;
The cute ass group pics we got on social media ;
"GG EZ"
The irl artists are all gr8 we stan.
Things i disliked :
It's almost impossible to not compare true damage to K/DA and even though i rlly like the animation style of TD, I wish they went with the same 3D as the K/DA MV. Like i get the need to make the two very distinct from each other, but I feel like K/DA's style worked so well...
The music video was kinda... idk meh? I know I'm still comparing, but K/DA had so many staples and iconic moments (ex: the neon train station obv, ahri and the washing machines, eve's cars, eve's pink glasses, etc.), while I found TD's video barely memorable (i liked the hoola hoop dancing i guess, i liked senna standing on a gicantic version of her gun, and i liked ekko's final verse. But that's all I got.)
The song feels disjointed. The rap parts were just so damn amazing and then they try to slide in an "epic league of legends song" chorus and i'm just... not into it?
I just wish they went RNB all the way...
Speaking of the chorus, even though I love Keke Palmer's voice, i feel like i've heard this chorus many different times in many different ways from league's other worlds music videos ;
The fact that yasuo was there just for riot to make a few extra bucks from yasuo mains lol...
That's more about the skin line than the MV, but the general lack of cohesion between each member. I feel like the aesthetic could've been a lot of stronger if the designs were a bit simpler and had some kind of unifying element other than just having true damage written somwehere. I still like them individually but they don't feel like band.
