A GIANT THANK YOU TO EVERYONE

We did it. The murder mystery game is officially over and I just want to take a moment to say thank you.

This whole thing started because I hit 400 followers and wanted to give something back to the community. What began as a simple “lets do a fun little murder mystery” turned into this massive chaotic event that lasted way longer than I expected. I made the rules post, set up the roles, and honestly had no idea how it was going to go.

Sometimes it was confusing. Sometimes things happened that I didnt plan for at all (like a killer being found on the first day or the jesters coming back for revenge). I was writing new stuff every single day, adjusting on the fly, trying to keep it fair and fun while also keeping the story dramatic. It was a lot more work than it probably looked like from the outside but it was so worth it.

It has been incredibly fun running this game and meeting all of you. Whether you were actively playing, watching from the sidelines, or just scrolling by and enjoying the chaos, thank you. Seriously. You made this whole thing special.

Now for the future.

This community is far from over. In fact this is only the beginning.

My goal is to turn this into the place where people come to roleplay, play massive group games, or even do both at the same time. There will be new games coming soon. Some might be short and sweet. Some might last a whole month. There will be competitions, events, and lots of chaos.

And when we’re not running a big game or roleplay? I want this to be a completely free space. Post whatever you want. Spam memes. Share your art. Vent. Post random thoughts at 3am. No limits. Just be respectful and have fun. It should feel freeing.

Thank you again to every single person who participated, watched, or supported this game. You made it unforgettable.

The story isn’t over.

It’s only just getting started.

we had the cutest patron come into the library yesterday.

she was like...one? maybe? whatever, she was itty bitty and had exactly one (1) DVD case that she did her best to give to us.

it was a success and hopefully we created a lifelong love of the library when four separate people at the desk applauded her placing it in the book drop

I was relocating a bug outside this morning and it buzzed at me, threatening to fly off into my house and never be seen again

TUMBLR MURDER MYSTERY – OFFICIAL RULES

Is the game active yet?: NO

I was brutally murdered last night in cold blood. Now the game begins.... we need to find the killer among us.

Game Overview:

- I am dead and will moderate the game + give clues as the ghost.

- The game has Night Phases (private actions) and Day Phases (public discussion & voting).

- Goal: Innocents try to find and vote out the killer. The killer tries to survive.

Roles:

- 1 Killer – Chooses one person to kill each night.

- 1 Detective – Can investigate one player per night to learn their role.

- 1 Doctor – Can protect one player from being killed each night (healing only works if the Doctor chooses the person the Killer targets).

- The rest of the players – Regular Townspeople (normal players who discuss and vote).

How the game works:

- Night Phase: I will DM the Killer asking who they want to kill. I will DM the Detective asking who they want to investigate. I will DM the Doctor asking who they want to heal.

- Once someone is killed, they become a ghost and cannot make posts or interact in the main discussion anymore (they can only watch).

- Day Phase: Everyone discusses in the community, accuses people, and we vote on who to lynch.

Important Rules:

- No cheating. No talking about the game privately with other players unless your role allows it. No screenshots of roles. No metagaming. If you cheat, you will be immediately banned from the community and all future games.

- Be respectful and have fun. No real hate or toxicity.

- Dead players can watch but cannot speak in the main thread.

Let’s find out who killed me.

throwback to that one time in undergrad that I gave a presentation on the 1984 movie Red Dawn but as a high school history assignment and convinced at least 3 of my friends that it actually happened until I pulled up "photographs" of the dudes and had to say "Patrick Swayze never went to high school in Colorado" in a deadpan voice to a room of like...30 young adults
