The Walking Dead Season 1
Rewatching AGAIN
I wrote 16k words on Young Sherlock and have no one to talk about it with :/
Gwen and Morgana matching clothes
El deserved so much better. Regardless of whether she died or survived and is isolated, she was given such an awful ending after all the horrible stuff she was put through. She never got to have a real childhood and when she finally made herself a little family, she was taken away from them.
Kali was killed and El couldn't safely live with Hopper, Joyce, and Will without the fear of the military using her. Hopper, Joyce, and Will were some of the only ones who saw El as more than her powers, and she deserved to live a normal, happy life with them. She deserved a family.
And I don't even want to talk about Mike, but I will. He was so wrong for her. At the start, he was what she needed, but it quickly became very apparent that they were not good for each other. She needed time to discover herself away from Mike and the pressure of having a boyfriend. And idc but he did not love her. In the finale, he couldn't even say it back when she was about to die. That's just so messed up, and she deserved someone who treated her better and was able to reciprocate her feelings.
Lastly, her relationship with all of them this season was just not a focus, and I think that was such a bad move. So much of her development has come from her interactions with others and she had almost no interactions with her friends this season. Like why were there almost no El and Max scenes?? Where did their relationship go? Why was she having the exact same issues with Hopper right until she died? Why were her interactions with Mike so weird if they were still dating? Why did she not really interact with Dustin or Lucas? She was just done so dirty this season (along with others) and it's sad to see.
so just checking- they developed a rushed sapphic relationship OFF SCREEN just to serve as a parallel/guide to the queer main character who was a continuous victim of abuse, gave hope that he would finally be safe and loved romantically by his best friend, reduced it to a crush in 45 minutes, pushed a hetero agenda of a dying relationship but it's fine because the mc finally accepted that things don't always work out(they have never allowed him to succeed like all his het counterparts did) then killed said sapphic relationship OFF SCREEN then slid in a 2 second shot of an epilogue boyfriend with no dialogue at a bar they weren't legally able to get into(but who cares about techincalities i guess) as a consolation prize? did i miss anything?

My favorite white collar promo pics are the ones that make the show look like a love triangle:

I GOT THE P1HARMONY EX ALBUM 😝😝
I’ll never get over how phenomenal Superman (2025) is. It is arguably the best Superman movie as it focuses on the humanity of Superman, and the ways in which his devotion to mankind shapes his character. He is a symbol of hope that strives to protect and save as many living beings as possible. He will save any person he can (protecting people from falling debris in addition to whatever enemy he is fighting) as well as any animal. I personally love the little detail of him saving the squirrel because while it may seem silly and/or unnecessary, it shows just how determined Superman is to protecting everything. He even wanted to save the Kaiju or, at the very least, kill it humanely. His determination to protect is admirable and such a big part of his character that this movie does an amazing job exploring and focusing on.
This movie also does a great service to Martha and Jonathan Kent and Superman's roots in Kansas. I think while many of the other movies mention or show his parents, they fail to really capture just how important they are to Clark and his role as Superman. They may not be his biological parents, but they raised him and acted as his family. As Superman said, he is just as human as the rest of us, and part of that humanity lies within the way he was raised. There is also a clear contrast between between the Kents and Superman's biological parents which is most notably shown at the end when the "soothing video" of his parents is no longer of Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van but of Jonathan and Martha. This is such a touching moment where the audience can see a major shift in Clark’s thinking regarding his parents (both of them). While Jonathan and Martha were always his Pa and Ma, a part of him was still holding onto his biological parents and the image he created of them with the limited knowledge he had. After learning their true intentions for him and finding comfort back home on the farm (and motivation after his very touching conversation with Jonathan), his image of both his parents change. This movie best depicts Jonathan and Martha’s tremendous impact on Clark/Superman and the way in which family, love, and community can shape a person.
I also really love how Superman was shown interacting in other countries (one of the things I loved about Superman returns) because while he was raised in America, he is a global hero. I think many heroes have a set area that they protect but Superman protects everyone regardless of where they live in the world. He is focused on Metropolis (which can be seen in this movie when he goes to fight in Metropolis and sends the Justice Gang to help the people of Boravia), but is willing to go into other countries to help anyone in need.
Perhaps the most outstanding theme present in this movie is Superman’s status within society. This goes hand in hand with his humanity, but the way his status as an alien was portrayed was amazing. It is very reflective of our actual society (especially in America at the moment) which I think is important. When he is arrested, he is told that he has no rights because he is an alien and is improperly detained in a makeshift secret prison. Near the end of the movie, Lex calls Superman a “Martian” and pays no attention to being corrected because he does not care. This movie is a wonderful reflection of real world issues that are happening currently and represent how we are all human no matter where we come from. We all embody the human traits of love, empathy, compassion, determination, etc. so our citizenship status does not matter. As someone who had an immigrant parent who didn’t gain their citizenship until a few years ago, it was hard to witness the difference in rights that I had with them. After living in America for 46 years, they could finally vote simply because they were deemed a citizen and no longer an alien. We were fortunate enough to never have any issues regarding their lack of citizenship or within the citizenship process, but that doesn’t remove the years of injustice, lack of rights, and general fear for removal. My personal connection to this topic really makes this message in the movie resonate with me, but even without that connection it is a very strong message that needs to be understood. No one is alien on Earth. We are all human no matter where we come from.
There is so much more to talk about regarding this movie. To keep is short, I will briefly highlight a few other notable things. Malik Ali and his role in supporting Superman and showing the cruelty of Lex. Lex Luthor and his representation of corrupt billionaires who pray on society for their own personal benefit. The way social media can be used to completely turn on people and the manipulation of social media. The power of journalism and its importance in times of crisis. The power of understanding one another and empathy (particularly thinking about Metamorpho).
Lastly, I would love to praise the casting department for the wonderful decisions they made. The cast was absolutely perfect and each character was played beautifully. All of the acting was very strong and the emotional scenes were absolutely phenomenal due to this. I expected to be blown away by Superman, Lois, and Lex, but I was pleasantly surprised with how amazing the others did too. Most notable were Mr. Fantastic and Metamorpho who really stood out in all their scenes. Overall, great cast for a great movie!
It gets on my nerves when people say the Winter Soldier was nerfed when they’re literally just talking about Bucky. Bucky and the Winter Soldier are two different people. Bucky seems a lot less powerful because he isn’t being mind controlled to kill without hesitation and is allowed to actually feel and reaction to pain.
Life is good. Brave New World is on Disney+ starting May 28. I am getting a new piercing May 28. I am getting Sam Wilson merch May 28.
Not watching s9 if any of these happen
Literally anyone leaves
Anyone but Hen or Chim becomes captain (I love Buck but I can NOT watch him be captain)
Harry or May join the team (I saw a few theory posts about this and they're great, but I can't)
Ravi does not become a main character
Eddie does not get his main character status back (cause literally where tf has his screentime been)
Anyone else dies
Eddie takes the job in El Paso
Buddie doesn't get canon status (at this point, I'll just be offended if it doesn't happen)
Bobby is actually dead (I still have hope he's alive)
Tommy appears (I'm sorry guys he irks me)
Lotr fugglers was actually all I needed to get me through the rest of the semester
Oh my god. Suho telling Sieun not to cross the line right before he kicks Yeongbin in the head just for Suho to be put into coma by being kicked in the head. And then Sieun saying “don’t cross the line” to someone in the s2 trailer as he struggles with the guilt of Suho being in a coma. I’m actually sick.
Oh my god the scene where Robin leaves Matthew was so good. It was so raw and powerful, so authentic. The way she immediately broke down in the taxi was perfect too. So compelling omg the acting on this show is phenomenal at times.

I know this has been said many, many times over the last few years, but I just rewatched ca:tws and it's on my mind. The way Steve's story ended in Endgame was just so out of character and completely erased both Steve's and Peggy's story.
Captain America (movie version) was one of my first real interests as a child and was what ultimately got me involved in the MCU. I loved his story and his character and, as ca:tws and ca:cw were releasing, I was so excited to see how his story progressed. It was so disappointing to see how Steve just threw everything he had and had worked so hard to get at the end of Endgame. I am not sure if there could be a worse ending to his story.
Starting with Peggy, it is so messed up that she was reduced to Steve's love interest in the end. Her story, her life, and her family were completely erased and disregarded at the end of Endgame in a way that is frankly disgusting. Peggy had a life, and she had a family (which Steve knows about because he sees the picture in ca:tws when talking to her when she was old). Yes, she was Steve's love interest in ca:tfa and a memory he held onto dearly (which also haunted him (see The Avengers: Age of Ultron)), but she was so much more than that. She was her own woman and while Steve did have a big impact on her life, he was gone, and she moved on. I don't care about different timelines or whatever, the fact that Steve went back in time and erased Peggy's story was messed up and absolutely diminishes her character.
As for Steve, his character was also completely ruined by doing this. As I said before, yes, he loved Peggy, and this was shown a number of times throughout some of the MCU movies. He loved her, he longed to have their dance together, and he wished he had more time with her. That is all true. However, it is also true that, just as Peggy was more than Steve's love interest, Steve was more than his love for Peggy. The love her had for her was a big part of his character and his story, but there was so much more to him/his story that Endgame completely disregarded. Perhaps the most common example (and the one that's on my mind as I just watched ca:tws) is his story with Bucky. There were two entire movies made on Steve's devotion to Bucky and Endgame just throws that all away by having Steve leave his friend (who he went on the run for and fought an entire battle with Iron Man for) just after they were reunited. They had him do that for a woman who he definitely loved, but also barely knew compared to Bucky. Not to mention the fact that she had already died, and Bucky was still there, miraculously alive (even if by terrible means) and able to understand the situation that Steve was in. Steve threw away his relationship with the one person in the entire world who understood what it was like to be alive in the wrong time and thrust into a completely unknown world because of the serum. He found that person with "shared life experience" and then he threw it out.
As I said this reduces Steve to his old love interest and completely destroys the entire part of his character that was set up by ca:tws and ca:cw with his devotion to Bucky. I can't even bring myself to talk about the whole "I'm with you to the end of the line" thing because it makes me so mad that this is how Steve's story ended. Endgame ending how it did in regard to Steve's story was an insult to Steve himself, Peggy, and Bucky.
I want to add a little disclaimer that I am not against Sam becoming the new Captain America. I have no negativity towards that story, and I am excited for Captain America: Brave New World to be released in a few days. If that was the direction the story was supposed to take, I think it could've easily done so without Steve doing what he did. Maybe Steve giving up his shield and title without any direct cause (like suddenly being an old man) wouldn't really fit his character either, but it would make more sense than what did happen in my opinion. Almost six years post-Endgame release and this is still something that bothers me to this day. I was so excited for the movie but left the theater more disappointed than I ever had before. There were a few things that I didn't love about it, but out of all the major deaths that happened in the movie, the death of Steve (in a metaphorical sense) had no meaning. It simply ruined his development as a character.
