Putting the term "male gaze" on top of the fridge until everyone remembers that it refers to a cinematographic trend and not the act of looking at things while being a man
reaching up to get it off of the fridge and the big tshirt im wearing as pyjamas rides up and the reader sees my panties
Love that this alien arm is clearly just green bubblewrap. 70s prosthetics I love you
Classic SF once again betrayed by a clear, static-free signal and a flat digital screen
This is how I remember classic Who and Star Trek, folks, with signal ghosts and scanning lines (but usually with more static/snow)
Sharing this on my main because it appears from the notes that it's useful for some modern viewers.
You KNOW classic SF used the limited displays of CRT television and the static of transmitted signals the way theaters use stage makeup and lighting to make inexpensive props look great fineā take advantage of the medium! But it's hard to imagine how it looked if you've only seen Blu-ray HD restorations.
I swear to you, despite classic Who using bubble wrap for years as one of its go-to materials that reflected light in interesting ways, we never realized that's what it was.
nothing sexier than that picture with the italian players on top of eachother after the win and the english ones going through the 5 stages of grief in the back
THIS ONE

Also on the topic of eternal diva can we talk about how Luke definitely almost died when he locked in, scaled the cylindrical tubes and circuits of a massive moving robot like 100 m above the ground which was also actively trying to kill him, AND saved a damsel in distress by somehow pulling a fully grown woman to safety, presumably after he also pulled himself up
the word youre looking for is aromantic, it is aromantic, you are describing aromanticism, the word you are thinking of is aromantic, you should also look into the concept of "non-sam aspec's" because you are describing aromanticism and calling it asexuality as though they are one and the same and interchangeable, and you are doing this in 2026

āNuclear Family Monthā is so funny as a concept. I have never seen a nuclear family worth celebrating.
usamerican film producers love to watch cinematic masterpieces and go fuuuck dude. what we made this again but in english and totally dogass
we recently sat through the first ten minutes of the us attempt at rebooting the amazing swedish film LƄt den rƤtte komma in (Let the Right One In) which they called Let Me In and we had to bail - they basically threw out everything that was good about the original in order to make up a us "version" they assumed was more palatable for us audiences, and it stank right from the start
us filmmakers simply don't know how to do the compelling grey drama of the everyday, they have to larger-than-life everything - and what makes the swedish film so amazing is how drearily normal all the weird shit and the human relationships are, you don't need to keep adding more flavours or hot sauce or whatever - it didn't need a cop trying to solve the mystery, it just needed the two kids and the adults who revolved around them, and the quiet joy of dismembering bullies - keep it simple ffs

Samantha Shannon really does like just putting Paige in Situations⢠and this is only the third book. Thereās still four more after this and two of them arenāt even out yet. Samantha, what more could you possibly put her through? Samantha, could you give you her a damn minute?? Samantha, I am taking custody of Paige!
happy pride to my favorite male podcasters (and to the wonderful community around them as well!)
