no no no it’s ANNABETH that represents hope and humanity during pjo, actually. no no no she was never an emotionless robot and it wasn’t percy that anchored her to her humanity. i’m sorry??? it was the other way around??

like just the fact that annabeth never once looses hope. she never once looses love and compassion and the ability to forgive. she makes amends with percy right away she sees cerberus as not a monster but someone who is hurting she is willing to sacrifice herself to hades so that her newest friend can have his mom back. she gives percy her camp necklace to fight ares, for luck. for hope. it’s as if saying that she will be with him….SHE is humanity SHE is a constant even if others leave. and just….the fact that she gives her father a second chance. SHE gives second chances bc that’s just who she is!!! i’m sobbing and this is only the first book.

when chiron said that heroes represent the two realms: the mortal and the divine. that percy is of both worlds but he is drawn to humanity bc he already feels so alienated bc he doesn’t FEEL all that juman like ofc not he isn’t normal even by demigod standards….meanwhile annabeth recognizes she isn’t normal but she doesn’t feel alienated by that like percy does. the real world is where the monsters are. she wants to go where she’s needed as much as she wants to prove herself. that’s why she doesn’t leave camp like percy does when they’re about to go to war that’s why she doesn’t give up on luke bc she sees that he needs her. yeah ok when percy and luke saw her in the river styx YEAH she represents hope and humanity bc of that but also. ALSO percy runs from camp bc he wants to feel mortal. he has this idea that rachel can give him that and rachel wants him bc she wants the opposite and they’re both mere ideas….but rly….the one who connects everything, the one who truly matters is annabeth!!!! when percy sees how SHE grounds him in the end. he goes to her in the end. he is offered immortality and he looks at her bc he sees humanity and hope in her….and decides to stay bc that’s what he loves. that’s what he wants.

actually so sick. throwing up. bc the themes abt hope and pandora’s jar in tlo. the power of yielding. yeah. all comes down to annabeth bc she never gave that up. she was injured and dying in olympus but, “family, luke. you promised.” it is his promise and it is her hope that mattered!!! SCREAMKNG bc againnnn she never. gave. up on love and family and HOPE bc she was the most human of all the characters in pjo thx for coming to my red talk
