Im your average 24 year old tumblr fangirl lol mostly here to lurk around and repost memes. but since Im currently reading the vampire chronicles Im probably gonna post sometimes.

THE VAMPIRE LESTAT Live at the Beacon Theater (x)
Some scattered thoughts from the concert tonight:
-God, Sam Reid really can sing. I swear I am being objective, but as a frequent concert-goer: the man can sing, and he can sing live. His voice was gorgeous throughout.
-Despite the rumors, no one besides Sam Reid went on stage in character. The backing band was not the same band as the show, and it even included Daniel Hart on guitar!
-Presumably this also means that this is not actually going to be footage for Episode 7, despite that also being a rumor.
-Sam Reid did mess up sliiiiightly, I think, and briefly faltered on the lyrics to Your Biggest Fan a couple times. (You can hear it a little at the end of the video I posted earlier.). But it didn't make it any less impactful, and honestly I think I only caught it because of how obsessively I've listened to the song.
-I have to say: the crowd truly was so, so cool. I had wondered if it might get crazy or loud or if people would shriek over the show or the songs, but no one did. Everyone was excited and responsive, but everyone was on their best behavior, presumably because this was such a unique, special event.
-1iota almost definitely oversold seats. The lines for general admission and priority seemed like they stretched the entirety of Riverside Park, and I was hearing rumors that no one in general admission would actually get in at all (though at least some did)
-I hope Eric Bogosian feels good about how absolutely bonkers people went when he walked into the theater before the show. Everyone got a big welcome, but he was the first to take his seat and damn, the people gave him a big welcome.

I think we have to accept that there is such a thing, especially in horror media, as a load bearing problematic ship. Yes, it's incest/age gap/abusive/manipulative , and its so important to the plot that trying to remove it destroys the whole thing.

I have a fear about s3 that I want to rant about little bit lol
What if they boil down Gabrielle‘s character from being this nuanced and layered character that had her own issues with gender and motherhood, into just being an intentionally predatory groomer of lestat? Kinda like how they changed Marius from being the person who rescues Armand from the brothel and refuses to have sex with him, no matter how much Armand begged, into just being some brutally violent pimp. I’m already seeing people on tiktok hate on Gabrielle a lot and I’m worried lol 🙃 
I’m not trying to tell people how to enjoy the media they watch. I’m not the fucking media police lol I’m not the arbiter of joy. I just don’t think the fandom or any conversation about the show is benefited when people are just constantly going “eeewww yucky! Incest!” lol like there are so many more interesting conversations that we could be having about the incest and the Oedipus complex that aren’t just “ew, gross!”, but so far that seems to be the only one that’s being had on tiktok.
Ok I’m done complaining lol I hate being negative, especially because I haven’t contributed to the fandom in a hot minute and now I’m back just to bitch lol I’ve become the thing I despise damn it!
