there is no other requirement to being transgender besides realizing that your gender doesn’t correlate with the one assigned to you at birth. That’s it, there’s no need to express your dysphoria or dysmorphia or gender suffering as a way to validate that you’re trans; you already are who you say you are, and nobody can take that away from you.
trans-ness is beauty, it is love and acceptance, and broadens a person’s experience with the world. You may have been taught that being trans is something akin to a mistake…but the blame does not fall onto you, nor does the blame of people misgendering you fall onto you, nor does the blame of people disrespecting you fall onto you…it falls onto the world and it’s history.
Colonization and white supremacy are the reason why transphobia is so rampant in “western” society. We are taught that trans is something new, when the reality is that it is something inherent to human life. Sex is a spectrum just as much as gender is, for biological variation (intersex individuals) are common in all species of life. Binary ideas of gender come from a capitalist colonialism, where the separation of men and women benefits those in power and maximizes their profit. Being trans is not a white or cis passing thing, nor should we hold these people or ideas to be the End Goal of being trans. Trans is something indigenous, multi-cultural, religious, spiritual, and, most importantly, natural. And there is nothing wrong with being anything but cisgender/heteronormative.
Do not listen to people who want to further colonize your identity by spewing ideas that trans-ness must be tied to medical diagnosis, that it must be tied to suffering and gender dysphoria/dysmorphia, that you must be hyper-masculine or hyper-feminine to be seen as human, that trans-ness needs to be palatable to be respected and honored; do not listen to them, for all that matters is your own personal relationship with gender.
Gender is your own, sometimes you reject it, sometimes you adhere to it, and sometimes you make up your own rules. Gender does not own you, you own it, and remember: trans-ness is something to love, and I truly hope that all trans people are able to love being trans.
Cannot overstate how damaging tr*nsmed ideology has been to the trans community literally cannot overstate it.
Nothing is more terrifying or dysphoria inducing than the thought of other trans people arbitrarily deciding i am “not trans enough” and a “trender”. You know how many times it’s happened to my fucking face irl? I’ve helped some of them discover they WERE trans. I was the first person some of them came out to and 6 months later they decided i was a “trender” because I Destroyed my body binding and cant do it anymore. Fuck transm*ds fuck tr*scum and fuck “trender” ideology. Its fucking deplorable and disgusting behavior.
Since this is getting a lot of notes i feel i should speak up before some tr*nsmed does:
At the time most of this was happening i had been out for 4-5 years. I have now been out for 7 years.
I wore a binder for 5 years and it destroyed my body. I am not exaggerating. I cant sleep on my stomach because my sternum clicks in and out. I have a dent in my ribcage because of it. When i wore my binder for the last time it got to the point that i could not sit or stand fully upright, even when not wearing it, and i wheezed while walking up stairs. I’m a dancer. I’m an athlete. It literally destroyed my breath capacity and it took months for me to get back to normal. I had to drop out of dance because i couldnt get through a combination. I cannot wear my binder now, years later, for more than 5-7 minutes without shooting pains down my spine and in my lungs and feeling like i am suffocating. My dysphoria has not gone away: i simply physically cannot bind
I have been directly hatecrimed multiple times, but by far the most damage to my psyche and perception of myself has been caused by other trans people. The actions that have made me the most dysphoric have all been done by other trans people. Specifically: tr*nsmeds.
Tr*nsmed ideology is not petty internet drama: it effects real life people. Tr*nsmed ideology is transphobic and racist and all around evil, full stop.
You will not be able to bully me, full stop. Not into changing how i dress, not back into the closet, not off of the internet, not at all, not ever.

me, mentally bracing myself for months, if not years of psychological evaluation: "So I think I might be trans?"
doc: "cool cool cool cool"
doc: "so... do you wanna start estrogen today or...?"
This is the blessed post of ungatekeeping. Reblog this to never again have to barter with a medical professional regarding treatment of your mental or physical health.
There’s so much info about tucking and gaffs (less so) but to all new trans girls.. just get some cotton panties like boyshorts style and push it back gently.
Like you might have to do slightly (slightly) more for tighter clothes or different fabrics but like… ya don’t need to tape yourself every day… or ever… and gaffs are good but unless you’re wearing something tight n thin cotton boyshorts or some other strong underwear will do the trick.
Like all this info pretending like you need special gaffs, tape, to shove ur testes up into your inguinal canal, etc. is classist, physically harmful, and preventatively daunting information to be spreading without disclaimers like this.
Idk if this has been said before but a long time ago another trans lady and I kinda realized we could just wear 2 pairs of underwear and call it a day without taping or anything fancy. Its definitely a cheap alternative and Ive been doing it for 6 years 👍
I wear jeggings to work and when im out and about and I never get looks or comments, idk if this is helpful to anyone tho 😅
to every transfemme person: please read this it will save you so much time, money, and energy
I had a friend who wore some layers compression shorts and called it a day
transmeds get fucking bent!! people who use mogai labels? EPIC!!!! people who use neopronouns? FUCK YEAH!! people who are still questioning? RAD AS HELL!!! non-dysphoric trans people? YEAAAH!!! u r all so epic and im so proud of u!!!!!!!
Made some questioning flags upon popular request!💜💙💚💛
The bottom three are alternates for those who are questioning just one thing!
The pink is for those questioning their sexuality, the indigo is for those questioning their gender, and the turquoise is for those questioning their pronouns!
They’re all free to use but please credit me/provide a link if you do!!!
men and nonbinary people who have breasts are totally normal and cool actually
also this is true regardless of whether they bind or plan to have top surgery
I know you’re aiming for trans and nb people rn, but this would also probably help cis men with gynecomastia too :D
This is one of the rare occasions when “cis men too!” is a good addition, and you’re so right! That did occur to me when I made this post and I’m glad you pointed it out
whether ur closeted or not, pre-t or on t, having long hair is not bad and does not make u a ‘trender’ OR female. in fact, long hair is epic and i will blow a kiss to all my fellow trans guys w long hair
Keep reading
cant forget trans girls w/ short hair either!!! youre all superb, closeted or not, pre-e or on e. your short hair does not make you a ‘trender’ OR male, short hair (especially on yall) is epic and i blow u a kiss as well :] i hope ur day is good <3

There is no “faking” being trans. There is no being trans “enough.” You’re always real and you’re always enough.
“We chose the term “asexual” to describe ourselves because both “celibate” and “anti-sexual” have connotations we wished to avoid: the first implies that one has sacrificed sexuality for some higher good, the second that sexuality is degrading or somehow inherently bad. “Asexual”, as we use it, does not mean “without sex” but “relating sexually to no one”. This does not, of course, exclude masturbation but implies that if one has sexual feelings they do not require another person for their expression. Asexuality is, simply, self-contained sexuality.”
— The Asexual Manifesto, Lisa Orlando and Barbara Getz, 1972
Note the date, people:
That’s 1972
29 years before AVEN was started online,
and 47 years before the present.
And that’s only the date that Manifesto was written, so asexuals as members of a community must have existed at least some time before that.
So, no: we are not just Tumblr trenders. Get out of here with that.
cat - an equivalent to twink but for fat mlm
hi i made this term because i was sick of bear being the only body type term for fat mlm!!
this term is for fat/chubby twinks you must be mlm and/or nblm and fat to use this term
the colors don’t have meaning but i did choose them for their own reasons
both browns were taken from a picture of an orange cat
the pinks were taken from an overlay of the twink flag and the bear flag
the yellow is a desaturated version of the yellow in the twink flag
transmeds, ace exclusionists, and anti-mogai people cannot use this term the creator is an aspec nondysphoric trans person who uses microlabels :)
chasers dni or i’ll take your knees
