Continuing to work on my Luis & his mutants AU, so here is a bit of concept for Needle and some story bits of his mutation with Luis overlooking it and kind of navigating the guy through the horrifying experience.
I want to make mutations for the mutants (except one) based on already existing in the franchise, so Luca here gets Mold. Current idea: attempt to stop a heavily progressed Mold-based mutation is initially successful (mind control, unnatural agression, some obvious visual cues of mutations stop or disappear), but, being too late, causes the Mold to act out in ways that it finds it can - so fast and agressive fungal growth happens. Luis eventually manages to contain it to Luca's torso and right arm, but the damage is done - Luca gets turned into mosquito-looking creature.
(In general, that will be the rule for all of the "friendly mutants" happenings in this AU, except maybe one: an attempt to save someone who is almost or already considered far past saving doesn't succeed without consequences.)
What Luca can do after: despite his rather small size, he is stronger than average person; can move around faster by turning into a swarm of mosquitos; can send his mosquitos around on little missions (like spying or getting samples of blood and etc); can temporarily change his appearance to look like himself pre-mutation; has fast regeneration. Works for his new family as a spy/thief/messenger/regular annoyance.
Also, yeah, being a mosquito-based creature who likes to talk and is a bit annoying gets him a monicker Needle.
(also just in case: if anything doesn't make sense, 1) it's a wip, 2) it's resident evil)
Hi, do Luis's little guys have names?
Hi! Yep, they do! Put here their names + nicknames that are used "in the family".
I'm also thinking about cool codenames different organizations can use to identify them in files and reports, but it's kind of a WIP: jumping in my head between The Wraith and the The Shroud for Anya and The Swarm and The Pest for Needle. Haven't thought much about it for Maud, though 🤔
Played a bit more with my Luis & his mutants AU. Wanted to try some kind of creepy imagery, idk if it works, but it was fun!
Also added a tag for the AU for easier navigation. Calling it Project Prometheus as a wip, it's too on the nose but I really don't have better ideas rn, ahah.
more pics for this au where luis makes a bunch of mutants that join him in his endeavours
more luis himself this time *fire elmo jpeg*
continuing this au with luis' lil man-made monster family. ngl i'm having immesurable fun rn.
Caught a very random interest in RE while feeling the need of a stress relief when I was stressing about my pets' health, so.
As a result, got incredibly invested in the character of Luis Serra, and now I have this AU where Luis survives, goes on curing-as-many-people-as-he-can journey and accidentally makes several mutants who are following him like ducklings 👉👈
Unsure what I'll do with this AU, but I totally want to refine designs and do more sketches, well, to at least get it out of my head.

I’m blindsided by authors using ai in their works. how can readers and writers tell if the writing is ai generated?
I’m gonna assume writers know whether or not their own works are ai because they either write them themselves or have ai write for them.
but as for readers (or writers who read other writers’ works), no, you can’t tell unless the writer themself says their works are ai generated. anything else is witch hunt, speculations and possibly wrongful accusations — all of which harm the writing community as much as ai does, if not more.
so if at any point you think an untagged work is ai and if that bothers you, quietly click away. but you can never know for sure based on vibes. because everything ai writes, a human writer does. that’s what ai was trained on and what it was trained to mimic.
I’ve already talked more about this here, here, here. and more on my other blog @writingdose here and here.
You can notice certain telltale signs in some of the writing, such as short sentence stacking and usage of "not x not y but z" structures. But you have to be familiar with AI writing styles to be able to notice that.
I’ve been writing “not x, not y, but z” way before gen ai became a thing. I’ve read works that have “not x, not y, but z” in them, and I’ve read those works way before gen ai became a thing. I’ve also been using em dash way before gen ai became a thing, and I’ve seen em dash used in so many written works way before gen ai became a thing. I know for a fact some human writers actually prefer short sentence stacking too.
every “ai telltale” is something humans write before, otherwise ai wouldn’t have been able to mimic it in the first place. because it needs human-made works to mimic on.
when I say ai witch hunt, speculations and accusations harm the writing community as much as ai does, if not more, “not x, not y, but z” and em dash are one of the main things I’m talking about.
The best way I can describe to an allo person how you feel about sex as a topic as a sex-repulsed or averse asexual is that it feels like a hype that never ends. As though Despicable Me came out and everyone around you was sending minion facebook memes to each other for years to come. The stores are full of minion themed products; they're in ads and your friends talk about them all the time. And deep in your heart you're like "I'm glad that they're able to enjoy something I personally don't like and am not interested in :3". But there is always this little voice in the back of your head that's like "If I have to see ONE MORE of these little yellow FUCKERS today then God help us all." You make an active choice to communicate only the former.
