I’m so confused why he would think cookie dough would give him salmonella??? What parent told him this. There’s no chicken in there!
Two words: Raw eggs.
?? What kind of world do you live in where Raw eggs carry salmonella or are in anyway unsafe
Don’t ask me, ask them Americans. I’m an Asian just passing the word on
*deep breath* Though the risk is small, raw eggs can carry samonella.
MORE THREATENINGLY Raw wheat can carry E. Coli. However, if you don’t mind making your own cookie dough, you can easily make it safely.
Take your standard recipe. Omit the eggs. Eggs serve as a binding agent to hold the cookie together. Since we’re eating the dough raw, that’s not needed. Take the flour, put it in a pan and bake it at 350 for 7 minutes. Any E. Coli is now dead.
Just mix the rest of the ingredients together as the recipe is called for and BAM, perfectly safe edible cookie dough.
Thank u so fucking much for this wisdom
wait you’re telling my i can get E, Coli just FROM EATING FLOUR straight from the bag???
Why..why are you eating flour straight from the bag?
for the love of god if you’re writing deaf/mute characters and they’re using sign language to talk PLEASE use quotation marks, don’t do just italics or brackets or whatever other thing it is people do. sign language is STILL A LANGUAGE. just because it’s not spoken doesn’t mean it’s not real dialogue. if you’re writing someone speaking spanish, do you write their dialogue like ‘[the flower district is down south,] she said in spanish’ like NO!!! IT DOESN’T WORK LIKE THAT, USE QUOTATIONS MARKS AND JUST SAY THEY SIGNED.
just know that you can describe their facial expressions! or how flowy their hand movements are, if they move excitedly or animatedly when happy, if they’re slamming their hands and moving aggressively when angry, how their brows scrunch or how rigid their hands get, you can still be creative and describe what they’re conveying even though they’re not using a spoken language. watch videos of people signing! look at how beautifully expressive it is! it is a LANGUAGE, treat and write it like one. use quotation marks
Giving mom a kiss before bedtime.
Four cubs? She has FOUR healthy, happy cubs??? I’m 🥺😭❤
Cheer up! I actually learned opentoonz today and in the span of two hours I made this lmao It needed to be done.
I love all your character designs! They’re Great! :)
Tysm! ^w^ This means a lot to me, especially since I've had to rewrite so many of them; due to recent events in my life & the sort. ;3; It means a ton that somebody else enjoys the bbys, lmao. ;W;
Hey, remember late last year when everyone (in Australia) lost their shit over a Sydney production not casting a nb/trans person in the role of Hedwig and harassed the ousted lead actor online so badly he had to put himself under suicide watch? Well, as it turns out they did cast a nb actor - that same actor who put themselves on suicide watch after being bullied online - they just were not ready to be out yet.
So not to be a fandom old about it, but you know how there’s that big debate over whether or not LGBT roles have to be played by LGBT actors? Many more of them are played by LGBT actors who for whatever reason are not ready to be out yet (or ever.) And it’s truly none of your business.
Adding to this, there are a ton of reviews for the film version of Hedwig on Letterbox that gave it 1 star solely on the premise that it “wasn’t written by non-binary people”.
Cut to earlier this month and both John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask have come out as non-binary.
Just because a person isn’t out, doesn’t mean they are cis/straight.
Wynonna Earp cast two cishet women as a lesbian/bisexual couple. Since then, both of them have come out as not straight (I don’t believe either of them have ever labeled themselves but their words seem like they’re both pan to me) and Dom is gender fluid and nonbinary. Both of them have credited their roles and the welcoming LGBT+ fanbase show as helping them realize they weren’t straight. Those roles helped them see past heteronormativity and explore their own identities.
Stop demanding personal information from actors and creators. If the representation is problematic, let’s talk about it. But if they’re doing a good job at portraying LBGT+ issues and people and relationships, let them live their lives in peace.
This is just like the situation with the short story “I sexually identify as an attack helicopter,” by Isabel Fall, a story exploring gender, sexuality and violence, which used the transphobic copypasta as a title in the same way many members of the LGBTQ community have reclaimed some pejoratives over time. The author didn’t give out much personal information and so the internet piled on, accusing her of being transphobic. The author was recently revealed to be a trans woman who stopped her transition because of how she was treated and spoken about by members of her own community and other critics on the internet.
#to make this clear harassment isn’t okay even if the actors truly were cishet
This happens a lot in voice acting as well lately, I’ve seen several instances of people being cast as trans roles (and usually privately being out to the staff) but then harassment starts and they are forced to come out. I’ve seen even more people express concern that they are often asked to disclose their gender and sexuality even to the casting directors when it is sometimes a very private matter.
Of course there is ample room for doubt considering the amount of cis actors playing trans roles. But sometimes it’s not that simple. The industry, as well as society, isn’t built for trans people to be safely out yet and sometimes it is easiest to pass. Maybe before snap judgments are made, consider there may be more at play.
i turned on the light in the dining room but Tubby had been sleeping in a chair and it woke her up and she was Not Pleased
yes
however we recently got her a new ceramic fountain that better suits her aesthetic
and her own fainting couch
but she still prefers a good lap whenever possible
@unpretty what is Ms. Tubby’s full name if it is not Tubby?
Tubbitha
You all need to start using those provided wheelchairs, when you need them.
Listen to me. Listen. As a wheelchair-user, I'm telling you that you need to get over whatever hesitations are stopping you from using a mobility aid that would greatly reduce your exhaustion/pain, or would keep you safe. Use. The. Wheelchair.
I'm not talking about permanently transitioning to wheeling around as your full-time mode of movement; that's a whole other level of personal introspection, and I cannot make that decision for you. I'm talking about using a provided wheelchair for temporary things like supermarkets, airports, museums (when those used to be open), etc. You know, when you go into certain businesses, and, near the front doors, you see a line of wheelchairs, for customers to use? Those things. Use those things.
"But I can manage without one."
Can you? Can you actually manage? Or can you say that you're managing, while putting yourself through extreme levels of pain and exhaustion, which you force yourself through, in order to keep up the 'I'm managing' charade?
"But those are for disabled people."
Sometimes, yeah.
"I don't call myself 'disabled'."
I don't care what you call yourself or what you call that chair with wheels; if it will genuinely help you, take the opportunity!
"But there are people who are more disabled than me."
And people who are less disabled than you. Use the wheelchair.
"But what if I take the wheelchair, for me and my access needs, but doing so takes away from someone else's access needs?"
Look, if you all keep thinking that, nobody's going to take the wheelchair, and you're all going to be suffering!
It's not selfish to look after your own body and your own needs. You're surviving! You're living! And you're allowed to do that!
"They won't let me use the wheelchair!"
Yeah, that's a whole other problem. Fight it. If you don't have the energy to fight it, find someone (like me) who will fight it, for you. If you need the wheelchair, and the business has provided wheelchairs, they are legally obligated to provide you a wheelchair, if you ask for it. And no, you don't need documentation. You have rights.
"But isn't it just easier to walk?"
Is it?
"But I still feel guilty!"
Don't be! That's what I'm trying to tell you!
"You can't change my mind with one passionate tumblr post."
Watch me.
"But people are going to judge me!"
Yeah...yeah, they will...but here's the thing: which pain do you want to go through? The pain of a bunch of strangers judging you for one second of their lives, or the physical pain and exhaustion that will come from 'managing'?
Look, this world is ableist, and disablist, and there are so many different sociopolitical stigmas that come with the label 'disability'. I get it. Trust me, I get it. I face these everyday (my PhD is about these exact sociopolitical factors, and when I study them as a wheelchair-user, I literally can never get away from the topic). I get why you're hesitating.
But if you need a wheelchair to go around a supermarket (etc.), if your life, safety, and health will be benefited by using a mobility aid that is literally there for you to use it, even if it's just temporary...
Use the wheelchair.

IT’S BACK
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND THIS AGAIN FOR MONTHS
I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW
ITS BACK
This is one of those posts that you need to save and tag or you’ll never see it again for 84 years.
You got that right
I’m crying
New portal just opened
no no that’s a bop, i love it
“Woman!” cried I, somewhat tearsome,
“Who are you to stand so fearsome
With your wavy locks of auburn hair and eyes of emerald green?”
Quoth the woman, “I’m Jolene”
Hi, I'm 25 and debating starting male-to-female HRT. However, I'm scared that HRT won't help me at all. It seems like HRT does so little after puberty, especially by the time one gets in their 20s. I'm really scared that I'll just end up being someone in a male body, but with breasts. Is there anything you can say to someone having this fear? Thank you, and sorry, I suspect this is a silly question.
Actually, the claim that HRT doesn’t do much after puberty is a myth. I started when I was 31 years old and now I’m 35. =)
It’s never too late to transition!
Yeah, anon, have you seen my timeline? I started at 29.
It’s never too late.
Seriously, I transitioned at 39 and I’m 41 now. Hormones are magic whatever your age and while some things stay, many things change and it’s been totally worth it for me.
OMG!!! I love seeing posts like this. The hope it inspires. especially in girls like me, is unprecedented. Thank you!
Hope
I felt the same way before I started transitioning and especially because I have a fair masculine build. But you know what I’ve learned from my experience so far? Fuck it! There is always hope and you could end up surprising yourself with the results.
I think results vary, I don’t see much difference between pre-hrt and 8 years on hrt
Just adding another voice to the barrage: It. Is. Never. Too. Late!
The top two pictures are from 2011, age 32. The bottom three are from this yeah, 2016, age 37, and (almost) 2 years on hrt. Hrt is magic.
Never.
Too late.
REBLOGING!!! Always! Forever!
Reblog to help someone find the courage uwu
Always reblog
Look at these amazing and brave women!!!! A reminder to all my followers, it’s not too late!! You can do it!!!!!
This is what I needed to see in my day ☺️ I’m only 23 but I think about making this change on a daily basis and it’s been 3 years since I’ve been thinking that. Hrt is in my future (:
Look at all these gorgeous women! <3
THIS is what i needed to be able to send to my struggling trans friends
SO MUCH GORGEOUS IN ONE PLACE, I SWOON
god creating lil nas x
How is the caption more hilarious than the comic
ok folks
I don’t think I actually have to spell this out
but there will be no prophesying, speculating, speaking into existence, etc about next year
no “I feel really great about next year,” no “I’d love more time at home to work on my hobbies,” no “surely it can’t be any weirder than 2020,” nothing
[smothers my dinner guests beneath an avalanche of rose petals I released from the ceiling as a little surprise]
HOW YOUR DINNER PARTY GO?
PRETTY GOOD IT DOESN’T SEEM.
This looks so pretty, until you realize it's Emperor Elagabalus murdering his party guests under several tons of rose petals. Yeah, look him up.
um it’s called style
there is not a single role chris pratt does that jack black couldn’t do better
at the people saying jack black couldn’t play star lord: why? no really, go ahead and tell me. I think I know the answer but I want to hear you say it.
tell me something nice
if you grow mushrooms over a toxic waste site, chemical spill, or other polluted growing medium, they will suck up the toxins into their fruiting bodies with such effectiveness that they are being studied for their ability to clean up tainted industrial sites. it’s called mycoremediation.
if you do this with edible mushrooms, they are no longer technically edible, but on the other hand they make a great way to poison your enemies. this is called murder and it’s usually frowned upon, but they won’t see it coming and you get bragging rights afterwards about your ability to kill people with a pizza topping.
Sorry this was not precisely most people’s idea of “nice.” Let me add that you are a glow of comforting absurdity in an ever-more-fucked-up world.
I love everything about mycoremediation, but also
