Four women accuse Jared Leto of criminal sexual conduct when they were teenagers

The actor and musician faces allegations from 10 women in total who say he mistreated them as teenagers.

Four women have accused Oscar-winning actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto of criminal sexual conduct, with the alleged offences having taken place when they were teenagers.

In total, 10 women have spoken to the BBC documentary - Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret - with nine of them sharing their stories publicly for the first time.

All the women say they encountered Leto between 2002 and 2016, when he was in his 30s and 40s. He is now 54.

"This was 25 years ago… he has gotten away with it," says one of his alleged victims.

The BBC has corroborated a number of the women's accounts with friends and family who were told about the encounters with Leto at the time. In some cases, we have also seen pictures and messages that support the women's accounts.

I went to a library book sale this weekend and I found a very old book called “Electronic Life: How to Think About Computers,” which was published in I think 1975? I’ve been reading it kind of like how I would read a historical document, and it’s lowkey fascinating

Every time you go in a public place and something ISN’T disgusting it’s because somebody cleaned it. Every time you feel comfortable using a public bathroom or sitting at a restaurant table or setting something on a gas station counter or playing on a playground it’s because somebody cleaned it.

I worked in a supermarket for 7 years and I don't think I can understate just how much cleaning you had to do for it to look clean (it very often where not in the places you aren't supposed to see)

my controversial conspiracy theory is that fia went hard with the current regulations as a way to mitigate the fact that max was becoming bigger than the sport. meaning, i was at lidl today and i heard a kid take a corner sharply, his parents scolding him and him replying "don't worry, im verstappen". the only other f1 driver ive heard used like that in my country is schumacher. max is approaching critical mass with the general public - historic run in 23, overcoming an impossible points deficit, streaming on twitch and lest we forget, international hit du du du du du, max verstappen. that's a level of cultural relevance that very few sportspeople achieve while at the prime of their sporting powers.

and current fia wants to sell you street tracks and paddock passes and friendship is magic teammates and the idea that the drivers are f1 employees, rather than the driving force behind the sport and that without their input, the sport is dead. and some did lick the boot as much as possible, only to have to walk back that bootlicking. and for f1 itself it backfired spectacularly, because all anyone is talking about is that the regs suck, the racing is not fun or exciting to watch, and that the man they directly or indirectly tried to nerf turned out to be a home grown cassandra who saw it all coming and warned them about it. no one listened, except he had his fingers right on the pulse of the public opinion and the rest only woke up after the views plummeted and the narrative shifted to largely negative.
