Obviously I know why this happens but there’s something so ironic about Nikki x reader. Like it’s kinda like putting you in the perspective of Bear, it’s taking a character that by design has very little screen time as herself and then shipping her with yourself. It’s especially odd to me when it’s like Nikki x reader coming home from trivia or something similar, because like that’s what occurs in the film. That’s exactly what Bear is fantasizing about. It’s just a little weird to me lol
I felt icky about that too
"next time, log in faster with fingerprint/face/iris recognition!" how about i keep typing my password like i have for the past 25 years and you fuck off
**Major Spoilers for Obsession (2026)**
I think the thing that is the most disturbing to me about Obsession is just how quickly it becomes totally clear that Bear not only never loved Nikki, but that he never even liked her.
Watching Ghibli movies as a couple is fun until your boyfriend turns to you and asks "Did you have a crush on that cat?"
Ah-hah! But why would you ask me that if you could not see why one would be attracted to that cat, I ask back, triumphant.
He replies: "its the way you look at him more lovingly than you do me."

For anyone wondering, the PhD student's name is Myra Cheng.
Here's a link to an article about the study from the Stanford Report: link.
Across three preregistered studies, participants interacting with sycophantic AI became more convinced of their own rightness and less willing to repair relationships. Yet at the same time, participants rated sycophantic AI models as higher quality, more trustworthy, and more desirable for future use, which may explain why this behavior has persisted despite its harmful impacts.

Hostel (2005) has been praised for body horror and a concept that will make you think twice about that lad's holiday to a dodgy hotel. It's probably better to take it as surface level, than anything meaningful.
The film follows those insufferable guys that linger around uni campuses as they go on a lads holiday. The aim: to get high and get with women. The outcome: they fall prey to a murder business.

Pumpkinhead (1988) is a movie of two halves. The first is a touching tragedy where we feel close to a father's grief, and the second feels like a by-the-numbers creature feature. When Ed (Lance Henrikson)'s son is accidentally killed by a group of teenagers, he gets revenge on them by summoning the demon 'Pumpkinhead.' (Who's actually a lot more alien-esque than his name implies – and that's a good thing. Whilst The Haunting Hour's not bad, this monster is decidedly more threatening than Stein's pumpkinheads.)
