Rhett & Link's Buddy System S1 • E7 (Another We) Review

Rhett and Link infiltrate Aimee in a funny but middling episode

Grade: B

Buddy System epitomizes YouTube Red's goal of using a channel's brand as a springboard to create content of higher quality. So far, YT Red hasn't been very successful. Scare Pewdiepie, Prank Academy and Game Lab felt forced and awkward: giving these YouTubers a bigger budget took away the magic from their smaller-scale videos. Foursome was YouTube Red's first scripted series, but it couldn't avoid the pitfalls of stereotypical characters and a clunky premise. Joey Graceffa's Escape the Night couldn't find itself and got lost in its ridiculous plot. The FineBros' Sing It! was an unfunny self-parody. Thankfully, Buddy System avoids the problems that plagued the other YT Red shows: it successfully implements its higher budget for greater comedic effect, it clearly defines its premise.

The Bachelorette (Season 12 Week 1) Recap and Review

Jojo's star-quality rescues a predictable season premiere

Episode Grade: B-

The Bachelorette is a very remarkable show, to say the least. It clearly dominates in viewership and ratings, and some even call it the reality show of the summer. So why is the show so popular anyways? Ultimately, it depends on why you watch The Bachelorette. Drama is a big, major component of the show. It's entertaining, it's unpredictable, it's again: entertaining. Potentials of later drama through this season are evident throughout this season premiere with Chad obviously denoted to be the charming villain. Having Chad as the big bad bully is redundant year after year, but it's still drama.

Limitless (A Dog's Breakfast) Summary and Review

I think it’s fair to call “A Dog’s Breakfast” Limitless’ finest episode.  And it’s mostly due to show placing its focus on the more important aspects of the show. In tonight’s episode, Limitless narrows in on the Brian-Rebecca dynamic, the Piper-Sands-Morra situation: and the show throws in a twist that flips the whole show on its head. All of this amounts to a stellar (perhaps the most stellar) episode of Limitless in its freshman year.

Once Upon A Time (Souls Of The Departed) Summary and Review

Well, that was an, OK episode of OUAT? I'm not sure it was necessarily premiere material, but I guess the episode was somewhat enjoyable. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m very needy:  I always desire fresh, interesting stuff. So when OUAT retreads familiar territory with Evil Queen flashbacks, it feels very redundant and it seems like it’s just a big time waster.

Once Upon A Time (Souls Of The Departed) Pre-Air Prediction

My gosh, tonight's a big night for OUAT, huh? The show has been picked up for a sixth season, allowing our favorite fairytale characters to explore new fairytales and new realms for another season. Plus, "Souls of the Departed" is OUAT's 100th episode, an admirable achievement that few shows reach, in a TV landscape in which some shows barely air out a full season.

The Flash (King Shark) Summary and Review

King Shark was a fairly interesting episode and ties up the loose ends of Barry's visit to Earth 2. The visit to Earth 2 has made quite a lot of impact on Barry and Cisco's life. So this episode delved more into the character's psychological state than their fight with King Shark.

The Amazing Race (Bros Being Jocks) Summary and Review

Leg 3 is a multicolored, kiss-blowing, yet unbalanced and fairly tired episode of TAR

Episode Grade: C​

Perhaps giving this episode a C is too harsh. It's still an average representation of TAR's early legs: there's a lack of sense of urgency, the challenges are still very simplistic, the skill level of the teams still range from speedy quick and astute to confused and slow. With Leg 3 there is a clear divide between the alpha dogs and the ones trailing behind. It really doesn't help that the leg is also unjustly unbalanced and unfair.

Limitless (Undercover!) Summary and Review

There's a lot of praise that Limitless deserves. Its goofy carefree humor makes it a one-of-a-kind crime procedural. The charm that Jake McDorman brings to Brian Finch is effervescent. The show isn't afraid to perform outlandishly crazy gimmicks to hold our attention. It's a lovable show, and the only rule it has is "Don't Take it Too Seriously, have fun".

One of the hard things to do in a drama is to commit. For Supergirl, especially, a show that has to balance multiple plots in the vast Arrowverse realm, there are many potential storylines to develop, but it's essential to the episode for the show to commit to telling one. Supergirl is unsure tonight, in "Girl Who Has Everything", resulting in two half-baked plots.

That was pretty disappointing, the return of the Reverse-Flash was supposed to be a fun and interesting episode. Yet the episode crammed so many plots without good transitions that it is really confusing and complicated. All of these factors combined made this episode one of the worst Flash episodes ever.

From this episode, we can clearly tell that the Reverse-Flash is back once again. Even after he was erased from existence, apparently nothing can stop this man. Of course this makes absolutely no sense at all, dead people can't come back to life (unless it's Arrow). Clearly there has to be something else that is happening that we don't know about.

Supergirl (Strange Visitor From Another Planet) Summary and Review

There are two characters on Supergirl that have masked away their pain, deciding to embody a strong, determined, and near-perfect human being, free of any flaws at all. The characters, of course, are Cat, and Henshaw. Both characters finally expose their vulnerabilities, in “Strange Visitor”, and by the end of the episode, they destroy their respective Achilles Heels. In tonight’s episode, Supergirl takes the audience on two wild rides in both CatCo and the DEO, and Supergirl manages to make both plots interesting.

Supergirl (Childish Things) Summary and Review

On the surface, Toyman is just another villain for Supergirl to beat. Toyman doesn't have any interesting powers that will make it harder for Supergirl to defeat him. He's just a villain, a simple human bad guy. But he's Supergirl's most important villain yet, more important than Astra, or Max Lord, because Toyman finally gives Winn purpose. Winn may be the nerdy IT guy, but his presence in this episode highlights how important he is to the show.
