might there be a reason this post resonates with a lot of women?
can you describe the phenonemon of weaponized incompetence? give an example.
in what ways might the gender pay gap have influenced this post?
in most cultures, women are expected to do the majority of childrearing and domestic work, even if they also work outside of the home. in what ways does this influence the post?
1. Many women are obligated/expected/forced to do the laundry for everyone in their households, especially the men, whereas men are not subject to this.
2. Weaponized incompetence is when a person pretends to or acts incompetent at a task to frustrate another person into doing the task for them.
3. Women are paid less than men on average, so in addition to added labor, they will also have less pay.
4. Similar to the last question, a woman may be working long hours and receiving less pay on average for it, if they were to have male members of their household or children, they would also have an added burden of domestic labor. So while a person may be living in unideal circumstances, they at least do not have that additional labor at home.

hey binghe, do you require dog vaccines. do you take your medications hidden in cheese. binghe, do you need your anal glands routinely expressed. oh, one more question, binghe-
The trees towered close to the edge of the road. Their thick roots pushed up the concrete, cracking and peeling the edges like an eggshell. They encroached too closely, reclaiming territory with brutal disregard for humanity’s forgotten triumphs. But it was not complete. Some of the road was still usable, allowing just enough room for the wagon. All nature had done was make things a little less convenient.
They camped on the pavement instead of the grass that normally separated the road from the tree line. There was no soft earth where they could lay their bedrolls. No water nearby to refill their canteens, wash the dirt from their clothes, or clean their gear. But they couldn’t go further. The sun had set. Night had come. The broken road was not safe to travel in the dark.
But while this camp was uncomfortable, it was miles from the valley. There were no wild dogs or birds. The flies and stench of decaying corpses were too far away to trouble them. The air was quiet and clean.
They built a fire in the middle of the road. Fallen branches and sticks, the dried and dead litter of the trees, were used for firewood. Twiddle and the mules were hobbled and resting beside the road, among the large trunks where they found some comfort hidden in the shadows. Paul parked the wagon at the edge of the road, far from the smoke and ash drifting from the fire, but just within the boundary of firelight. The survivor remained sleeping in the wagon’s makeshift bed. Close enough, without being too close.
Outside the red-orange influence of the firelight, the night was hopelessly dark. The moon was nowhere to be found. There were no stars. The sky offered a vast and empty nothing. Paul had never felt claustrophobic camping in the wild and open air. But the lightlessness was oppressive, pushing against the firelight, making the world smaller, as though the fire’s glow hadn’t dimmed at the edges but was cut off. The night had completely encased them, giving them no door or window through which they might see the world outside.
Where the light had vanished, there were sounds. Not animals or insects. Those were left behind in the valley. There was wind, though, gentle and hollow. It brushed against the leaves hidden above them, causing the branches to creak and moan. The groaning wood sounded of complaint. The rustling leaves whispered frustration. The trees chattered through the hum of the night wind.
Paul wondered if the woods were talking, gossiping. They were ancient things. They had watched the road over a span of hundreds of years. In that time, they had seen many secret and unknowable things. But had they seen the cattle being driven toward that valley? Did they see the creature that stalked them and eventually destroyed them?
This road had to have been traveled by the herd. The stranger, still clinging to life in the wagon, had once slept under the same murmuring canopy. Did the trees recognize him? Were they talking to each other about the creature that nearly killed him?
The trees weren’t telling Paul anything. Why would they? Probably because they couldn’t talk. But in Paul’s fantasy, they just didn’t care. In the grand scheme of their immense lives, the passage of people, their deaths, a monster’s reckless murder and feeding were nonsense things with no more importance than the daily adventures of the local vermin. The devastation not more than a few hours away was just a momentary distraction, a thing to talk about incidentally as they passed the time, intent on their real work: the stretching of their long roots to dismantle the road. Their pointlessly vengeful act of reclamation was all that truly mattered to them.
a thing that you REALLY should remember about white lotus luo binghe is that he is fully convinced that HE did something to earn shen qingqiu's regard. that he won the abuser lottery and somehow convinced his shizun to see his worth. and you people are NOT including this derangement in your white lotus binghes. he was willing to fistfight liu qingge at age 15 for an extra ten minutes of shen qingqiu's attention you HAVE to match that energy!!!!
My particular headcanon for Bingge and Original Mobei Jun is that Mobei Jun can say things to Bingge that he'd kill other people for and Bingge will just be "lol you right" and then not make any changes to his plans.
Conversely SVSSS Mobei Jun is more reserved in his criticism because Binghe actually listens to him- he doesn't want to be too mean or Junshang will start crying again.
Thinking about how the different MXTX couples would get married.
Luo Binghe and SQQ: we saw it folks, very low key. However if you don’t think Binghe loudly referred to himself as ‘Husband’ at the top of his lungs in every subsequent interaction with someone for months after, you’re wrong.
Lan Zhan and WWX: a family affair at the Cloud Recesses. It’s very simple but nice. Wei Wuxian insists on dressing up like a bride even though everyone assures him he doesn’t have to. Jiang Cheng is invited, no one thinks he’ll show up, but when he does he complains the whole time. Wen Ning cries. Lan Quiren cries for different reasons.
Hua Cheng and Xie Lian: a huge blowout in ghost city. Everyone they’ve ever met is invited. Hua Cheng invites Mu Qing and Nan Feng but the invitations refer to them as handmaidens for the bride. They’re both incredibly offended but show up anyway. At the wedding feast Xie Lian happily tells the assembled guests he cooked one of the dishes himself! But won’t reveal which one. The rest of the banquet is spent in constant terror. It’s Xie Lian’s wedding present to himself.
Au where SY is a discple and Binghe's age. SQQ is also his dad and it is imperative he looks almost exactly like SQQ... other than a few small details of course.
Of course LBH and SY are gunna be practically sewn together at the hip. But some Stupid Artifact Nonsense happens and both SY and LBH find themselves thrown back like 15 years into the past, before either of them were born. (They're both like 12-ish.)
This is when the Qing generation was still disciples and their Shizun are like maybe a year or two out from Ascention. Then in the middle of some important meeting with all the Peak Lords and their successors these two kids fall out of a Qi Portal. Chaos, of course.
SY and LBH VERY MUCH would like to go back!! But SY is also foaming at the mouth because! So many new characters that Airplane didn't write about! So much potential backstory! And! AND!! What if they prevented whatever happened to Binghe's birth mom??
LBH is vaguely interested in that, but more enticed at the idea of maybe seeing his washerwoman mom again... but SY is also a hazard to his own health and LBH long decided to do everything he can to protect SY! Like the precious bunhe he is!
The most shock would come, after everyone calmed down, that SY is SQQ's SON?!
You now have two plotlines: SY trying to mess with the past and change it better LBH's future. But the rest of the Qing generation trying very hard to figure out who SY's other parent is.
Because.... SY looks carved out of SQQ's ass, but he also has little similarities to... literally all the other Future Peak Lords. The same hair color as YQY, LQG's eye mole, MQF's smile, SQH's eyes, WQW's dimples, QQQ's nose. It could literally be any of them.
SQQ is about to Qi Deviate from all the sudden attention he gets from his martial siblings.
(Funniest option is that SY is not even related to any of them, not even SQQ. He was literally a free baby that SQQ pulled out of a dumpster and was like "finders keepers".)
Also just the comedy if SY managing to sleuth out TLJ and SXY and seeing how THOSE awkward convos would go with lil bab Binghe.
