scallisaac name-on-the-body soulmate au
allison had never given a lot of thought to names. Some people had them, some didn't, and that much control of her life left in the hands of the universe was not a concept she liked to spend a lot of time dwelling on.
until scott. with scott she was so sure. even when they were on break, she was sure. one day. it was definitely going to appear one day.
so the very last thing that she's expecting is for the name that curls its way along her shoulder a few days after their detention together to read isaac instead.
isaac's more cynical; it's kinda hard to buy into the fairytale when he'd borne first hand evidence of what it's loss did to his father. besides, given how everyone he cares about ends up dead it's probably just all around better for everyone if he doesn't get one, so.
so finding allison printed across the pulse in his wrist? definitely a mixed moment. even more so because it's allison, scott's ex in what isaac understands is a temporary way only - and scott's basically the only friend he has left these days. so isaac's pretty much planning on just ignoring it, until scott finds out and talks him into it.
by the time ms blake kidnaps chris, allison and isaac are starting to cautiously figure things out, finding the places they fit together, where the cracks in their souls run parallel and their scars cross each other, learning the sides of each other that they hadn't been able to see while on opposite sides of gerard's war.
but the bond they share is still new, still forming, still uncertain; it hasn't fully settled yet. so it makes sense when deaton pairs allison with lydia and isaac with scott for the ritual: the stress of having to drown your named one could harm the bond, or even fracture it, and they can't predict the side-effects. besides, it might take another werewolf to hold scott under, given it took scott and derek to keep isaac down, and he’s not a fledgling true alpha.
scott's a romantic, a complete romantic. he's spent his whole life waiting, checking, hoping for a name. sometimes, he's even drawn them on: stiles on his arm. harley above his knee. allison over his heart. isaac curled around his hip. kira on his wrist - but they always washed off in the shower and vanished down the drain.
so when he spots the name on isaac's wrist and isaac says he's not planning on doing anything about it? scott's sort of flabbergasted. and yeah, okay, was scott expecting things to work out differently? yeah, yeah he was. honestly, he didn't see his soul and allison's not naming each other… but after everything allison and isaac have been through, they deserve whatever happiness they can get.
scott doesn't want to be the thing standing in the way of that.
a few weeks after the ice bath ritual, on a stop by the old lahey house to collect some of his things, isaac gets triggered and loses control. trying to get him reanchored, allison pulls out an alpha roar that isaac swears is scott. that's when they turn to deaton for answers.
when deaton theorises that the ice bath ritual interfered with the fledgling bond, pulling scott into it as well... well, a three way naming may not be normal, but they're two werewolves and a huntress.
normal was never an option.
