Delainey Hayles on Claudia & Louis
[x] Louis was Claudia's person and "he's always been her person."
[x] Claudia is "very happy it's Louis" who promises to put her first, ("You and me, me and you.")
[x] Claudia & Louis' dynamic is the heart & soul of S2, but their bond is tested.
[x] Louis loves Claudia, and "she loves him," so they have both "suppressed" their true natures to "appease" each other and be "comfortable" around each other. But Claudia feels that Louis' "commitment to her" (putting her first) is fading.
[2x1] Claudia is at odds with Louis because he refused to let her burn/kill Lestat
[x] The last bit of love Louis & Claudia share isn't enough to keep them from drifting further apart
[2x1] In Eastern Europe, Claudia is "very reluctant" to hear Louis' apologies as he tries to "earn back her trust" after not killing Lestat
[x] Claudia's trust in Louis is gone after 2x4 ("Picked another one, over me!"); but despite Claudia "seeing red because of him," she still trying to take care of Louis
[x] Ever since Eastern Europe, Louis' been lost in his own little world he created (a la DreamStat), still taking Lestat's side over hers
[x] Claudia is desperately "desperately seeking connection with Louis," but he's not picking up the breadcrumbs she's putting down to ask her about Bruce, and all of the traumas she's been suppressing for so long.
[x] Louis & Claudia are at odds, pushing each other away
[2x6 | 2x4] Claudia's very good at reading people and knows she can still "convince Louis" to talk Armand into turning Madeleine into a vampire | Claudia knows that Louis is "slipping faster than she had planned with Armand"
[x] Claudia's so angry at Louis in 2x4 that she wants to kill him & Armand. The last straw was Louis not telling her that Armand knew the truth about "Bruce"/Lestat the whole time
[x] But as mad as she is at Louis, she still doesn't want to hurt or "trigger her traumatized father"
[x] Claudia doesn't want to get "in Louis face , like Lestat was." She doesn't want to treat him the way Lestat did, "invading his space," because like Louis, she also "has a lot of trauma" seeing "what he went through" in Loustat's relationship.
[x] She wants to hurt Louis, "cutting deep emotionally" to let him Louis know that Armand is his blindspot, and that picking Armand over her "has inflicted a familiar pain" from when he picked Lestat over her, too.
[2x6] Louis & Claudia agree that after he makes Madeleine a vampire, "we're done;" she's leaving Paris and leaving him behind for good
[x] Although "the love is never lost" between Claudia & Louis, they still "need space apart to learn to love each other again"
[x] Claudia & Louis didn't have time to "reconcile & express their deep love for each other" before the Trial, but "she loves, she loves, she loves Louis." Even as angry as she is learning about "the night she was created," she still kept defending Louis "out of her love for him."
[x] Despite everything, Claudia died "knowing Louis loved her deeply."
