Hi all,

I'm not really back! This post is a trick. I was dealing with family business and then I got really sick (I have the flu and 4 infections coursing through my body, it's fun!). I'm actually still really sick. For some reason looking at a computer screen makes me want to vomit.

I know I have stuff in my askbox that I promise I will get to, as soon as my laptop stops triggering my gag reflex. Maybe Saturday?

I hope all of you are well and not sick! And sorry I've been away for like a month. I still love all of you and I'm still obsessed over fictional characters, I promise.

But I think part of effective social justice includes humbling yourself a bit. You have to admit that you’re part of the problem. That you can fuck up. That you can make mistakes. That you can say things that are hurtful and not mean it and people aren’t obligated to forgive you for it just because you didn’t mean it or you’re “progressive” and you’re trying. You need to release the notion that you deserve to get an award for not being an asshole. Or that you need a gold star for trying.
