I cannot express to you how FAST it has gone. I grew up in a world that does not exist now. We're starting on the path to reverse it, globally. You might not know how much solar has EXPLODED in the last decade or two. It's gone from a side thing, a weirdo novelty that was just Not Viable... to whole countries investing in infrastructure. but we have to keep fighting big oil and fascism everywhere we can in order to keep on this road to a new better less scorching burning earth.

Friend, I am a millennial and I can tell you it wasn't this bad ten years ago. And further, that it was already changing when my Generation Jones mother was a child. Because she used to tell me about winters being worse, and my Lost Generation grampa would chime in and say that when he was a kid you'd layer every piece of cloth you owned on your bed--underwear, coats, blankets, clean rags, EVERYTHING--because even with the fire going it was possible to freeze to death in your sleep in winter. And he was not a dramatic man--to the best of my knowledge the only lie or even exaggeration he ever told was an extreme long-game joke he played on the whole family to discover at his funeral. (He had one thumb shorter than the other with a weirdly stubby and misshapen nail. He told me he'd lost it in an accident at the tool and die shop he worked in. Only at his funeral did we discover there were two dozen relatives with two dozen different stories about what happened to his thumb, and we have no idea which one was true--if one of them even was.)

It was a slow cook and it's gonna be a slow cool, but even if we can't completely reverse it, we can make it better.

i feel like a lot of people see it as a flaw in storytelling when an actor's personality bleeds into or eclipses the typical characterization of their character but personally i think one of the funniest things abt taako adventurezone is that he is sometimes temporarily possessed by a deeply socially anxious nearing middle aged suburban father . its a core component of the character that i feel cannot be ignored

I once inadvisably shared an interesting article about a romance novel lawsuit with a co-worker. About an hour later she appeared at my cubicle and said, "You can explain to me what they mean when they say 'omegaverse', right?" and I was forced to respond, "I can, but not during office hours, I'm not getting fired for being sexually inappropriate in the workplace."

I will say, when I started to explain it, her eyes got really wide and she said, "So that's at least six genders, right?" with the kind of mental acuity I'd never even thought to bring to bear on the subject.
