Nothing quite hurts like the bosom friend in the same fandom with you for 7 years now suddenly moved on. Like where do I put all the inside jokes and silly lores and headcanons that only we could make sense of now? The connection still lives because we were friends before we got into the same fandom together but it's still so very sad.
isn't it oddly beautiful that this niche interest leads us to creating? like, sure, i can read other people's posts on here, i can stare at gif sets, i can watch series just to skip to the whump scenes, but out of ALL the media that i've consumed for the last decades there has been NOTHING that scratches the itch in my brain like those images that i play in my mind before i go to sleep and i MUST put those into words before those whumperflies drive me insane.
and sometimes i wonder why? why out of everything out there, my brain has picked this ONE thing to latch on for so many years. i mean. i don't play whump scenarios in my head everyday -- there were periods that i didn't think about whump for months on end, but this interest never went away ever since i watched that one whump scene from a Chinese series whose name i don't even know anymore since i was... 3?? or 4?? i've felt like a weirdo ever since -- until i found this community and knew that there's a WORD for this weird thing I'm into!! i was SO happy and relieved!
now I write in private. i can put those whump scenarios that plagued my brain and never left into real words that I can read before bed. life is good.
interesting kink assortment on the dash
sleep during recovery is so so important to me. hypervigilant whumpee choosing a small, enclosed space for sleep, in order to feel safe. only getting sleep for a few hours at a time, and being constantly exhausted. getting horrid nightmares every night, hating the thought of even laying down out of fear of them.
finally conking out at an unexpected time... falling asleep on caretaker's chest, taking a nap on the couch, falling asleep at their desk as they were working on something. caretaker picking them up and carrying them to bed, with whumpee unsure how they feel about it in the morning... caretaker surprised to see whumpee looking calm and relaxed for the first time....
Blanket whump has me in a chokehold. I CAN'T imagine what could be more supreme than a body so weak, so cold, so lethargic burried under blankets so thick even the outline of the body is not clearly visible. The shivering so quiet -- only discovered when one reaches under the blankets to touch the sick character's hand. Blankets drawn to the chin, fully cover the neck & shoulders. Words muffled by a blanket drawn too close to the lips. Blankets pulled up by the caretaker when they slip off the shoulders. Gathering the character in one's arms while covering them in blankets because they are so fragile right now that even a nip of cold air could drive them to the edge. Character saying they are cold with red-rimmed eyes under all those layers.
Cover your sickies!! In blankets!! All of them.
I need that man ruined. He has too many walls up. He has too high of an opinion of himself. I need to remind him of who he is and what his place is. I need him hurt- physically, emotionally, I don’t care. I need him resorting to actions and emotions he would never even consider in any other situation. I need him shaking and crying on the floor. And most of all, I need to see him fail at hiding his misery from others while he does so
I need my whumpees to be little assholes -- they can't be cinnamonrolls because I don't want to feel like a bully (what a weird thing to say considering the sadistic nature of this special interest 😒).
We’ve all heard about pathetic wet cat men, but what about:
Depressed wet owl men: Tired of everything, could not comprehend the concept of being loved, just waiting for the sweet release of death at this point. And think everyone must hate them (they don’t)
Sweet but silly wet dog men: Remaining smiling and positive through the worst pain, thinking they can shake off anything (they can’t). Tries to get the others to not be worried even if they’re dying.
Dying wet hamster men: Crumble from the slightest of touch, mentally and physically. Somehow always end up hurt or sick just by doing nothing. Thinks they are a burden (they kinda are) and everyone must be tired of them (they still love them tho).
Anxious wet horse men: Is absolutely alright but just thinks they’re dying, probably search up their symptoms on google.

Solving the Angsty/Whumpy Conflict 😮💨
lowkey signs your whumpee is getting sick
aches in odd places, like their hands or their neck
their shirt’s damp with sweat, skin overly sensitive to any draft
a tickle in their throat that won’t go away
eyes that feel like they’re burning
they’re just. so. tired.
swollen lymph nodes that didn’t hurt yesterday
unusual weakness—even lifting light objects feels like a monumental task
that shivery feeling that keeps creeping down their spine without warning
Poison list
While it's important to approach writing with creativity and imagination, it's crucial to prioritize responsible and ethical storytelling. That being said, if you're looking for information on poisons for the purpose of writing fiction, it's essential to handle the subject matter with care and accuracy. Here is a list of some common poisons that you can use in your stories:
Hemlock: Hemlock is a highly poisonous plant that has been used as a poison in various works of literature. It can cause paralysis and respiratory failure.
Arsenic: Arsenic is a toxic element that has been historically used as a poison. It can be lethal in high doses and can cause symptoms such as vomiting, abdominal pain, and organ failure.
Cyanide: Cyanide is a fast-acting poison that affects the body's ability to use oxygen. It can cause rapid loss of consciousness and cardiac arrest.
Nightshade: Nightshade plants, such as Belladonna or Deadly Nightshade, contain toxic compounds that can cause hallucinations, respiratory distress, blurred vision, dizziness, an increased heart rate, and even death when ingested.
Ricin: Ricin is a potent poison derived from the castor bean plant. It can cause organ failure and has been used as a plot device in various fictional works.
Strychnine: Strychnine is a highly toxic alkaloid that affects the nervous system, leading to muscle spasms, convulsions, and respiratory failure.
Snake Venom: Various snake venoms can be used in fiction as deadly poisons. Different snake species have different types of venom, each with its own effects on the body.
Digitalis: Digitalis, derived from the foxglove plant, contains cardiac glycosides. It has been historically used to treat heart conditions, but in high doses, it can be toxic. Overdosing on digitalis can cause irregular heart rhythms, nausea, vomiting, and visual disturbances.
Lead: Lead poisoning, often resulting from the ingestion or inhalation of lead-based substances, has been a concern throughout history. Lead is a heavy metal that can affect the nervous system, leading to symptoms such as abdominal pain, cognitive impairment, anemia, and developmental issues, particularly in children.
Mercury: Mercury is a toxic heavy metal that has been used in various forms throughout history. Ingesting or inhaling mercury vapors can lead to mercury poisoning, causing symptoms like neurological impairment, kidney damage, respiratory issues, and gastrointestinal problems.
Aconite: Also known as Wolfsbane or Monkshood, aconite is a highly toxic plant. Its roots and leaves contain aconitine alkaloids, which can affect the heart and nervous system. Ingesting aconite can lead to symptoms like numbness, tingling, paralysis, cardiac arrhythmias, and respiratory failure.
Thallium: Thallium is a toxic heavy metal that can cause severe poisoning. It has been used as a poison due to its tastelessness and ability to mimic other substances. Thallium poisoning can lead to symptoms like hair loss, neurological issues, gastrointestinal disturbances, and damage to the kidneys and liver.
When incorporating poisons into your writing, it is essential to research and accurately portray the effects and symptoms associated with them. Additionally, be mindful of the potential impact your writing may have on readers and the importance of providing appropriate context and warnings if necessary.

Intro:
Hello there! So you've found my whump blog. I post mostly prompts and sometimes stories with generically named characters (A/B/C etc.) with very occasional fandom/canon character mentions.
I will take asks/requests, just be clear on what you'd like (list of prompts, fic, or just my thoughts on something).
Here is a list of things I won't write, due to anxiety about certain tropes or just general distaste.
And here is pretty much this blog in short form, a masterlist of highly specific things I like in whump if you've got any interest in reading:
Sickfic
Potentially life threatening but not get-them-to-a-hospital-immediately-or-they-will-100%-die level wounds and injuries
Crying >:)
SHIVERING, feverish chills, whumpees trembling from being out in the cold, shaking from shock and fear, chattering teeth, when they literally can't stop shaking
"You should get some rest."
"You need me more than I need rest."
Don't you just love it when stoic/hardworking whumpees pretend that everything's fine when they're sick because they don't want to let go of the facade they've created for themselves... only to wake up on the floor surrounded by the very people they didn't want to worry, having just passed out from the very high fever they're running?
We all love a character who is so badly hurt or sick that they need to be supported to drink water/take medicine because they can’t sit up on their own, but like…let’s think about it in detail for a sec. They’re weak and barely conscious, and don’t even understand what’s going on when the caretaker slips an arm under their shoulder to help them up. They just know that all of a sudden their head swims and everything rocks around them. They have to cling to the other person desperately with their other arm, because they feel like if they don’t they’re going to fall off the face of the earth. They can feel the caretaker’s warm body next to them, and they’re shivering and so deeply cold they would hardly be able to sit upright even if they had any strength left. Caretaker props them up against their pillows and their head stops spinning a little, but now Caretaker is gone and they don’t know where they are, so they reach out one trembling arm until they find ta warm shoulder, and they cling onto it. In return they feel a gentle hand rubbing their back. They hurt all over. The moment when they get to lie down again can’t come fast enough.
YES. THIS. ALL the warm-fuzzies right there.
This is just too good.
A character, too weak to sit up/stand on their own, is being supported by a companion but the companion needs both hands free for a moment to rearrange pillows/unlock a door/etc., so the companion drapes both the weak character's arms around their neck and instructs them to hang on, the supportive hold turning into a feeble embrace as the weak character clings to their companion and the supporting character reaches around them to complete the task.
