I like to think that glittery background Yami is taller than Yugi not because he actually is taller, but because Yugi looks up to him.

This is the kind of scene that inspires the looking up at/ down at you height jokes my brother and I did more when he was not taller than me.

Characters with extremely exaggerated height differences in emotional scenes, or even for the convenience of differentiation in said scene with look alike characters.

this is a cute interpretation and all but i will never not be mad about yami's anime height. he is supposed to be one juicy box tall. put him under the hydraulic press. squish the height out of him NOW !!!
