Modern AU where Eddie rides a little viral moment into a music career, becomes one of the biggest acts in music...and now he's being trolled online.
There is a guy across social media platforms who comments under everything Eddie posts with a little 'Eddie Munson Fun Fact.'
It's very annoying because these facts range between mundane to embarrassing, and they're all true. This is clearly someone who is from Hawkins and went to school with him but Eddie has no idea who it could be.
Their profile picture is a poorly made ice cream cone and all their non-Eddie related posts are about StarCourt Mall conspiracies.
He'll post a little thank you to the fans or give updates on show dates, and without fail, Ice Cream Guy is there like, Fun Fact: Eddie Munson is a three time senior.
Fun Fact: Eddie Munson fell off a cafeteria table into a trash can once.
Fun Fact: Eddie Munson is a String. Cheese. Hater.
This guy is trying to get him canceled by Big Cheese.
Eddie's label hates him but his fans like him so Eddie kinda just deals with it because the engagement is good.
And then Eddie comes out.
He lets the whole world know he likes men and Ice Cream Guy is the first to comment under the post like, Fun Fact: I knew it.
Followed by: Fun Fact: Eddie Munson has a crush on me.
Eddie comments back: Prove it
Ice Cream Guy replies: Fun Fact: Ask me on a date first, freak
Eddie replies: How would I know it's you if I don't know who you are??
Ice Cream Guy says: You'll know.
Eddie's fan eat this up. They start bringing ice cream to his shows. They start making ice cream themed fan merch. They're drawing NSFW fan art of Eddie with a sentient ice cream cone.
Nothing really comes from this interaction and hype died down until one day, Eddie posts a photo of him and Steve 'The Hair' Harrington with the caption, Fun Fact: He was right.
This is shit you couldn't even cook up in rpf fanfiction without people saying it's unrealistic

Okay, so on the one hand, Snape going alone after the troll makes sense considering he had the job of hunting down Quirrel and seeing what he was doing. On the other hand, the way it was described as Snape being the only one there while all the other teachers went to safety paints a very funny mental image in my mind of Snape grumbling as he dashed around about how they're all exploiting him and hiding behind the youngest of them.
Or the conversation that led to it going like "Severus, go after the troll!" "What, who, me? Why?" "Because you're a fit young man and the rest of us are all old and frail." "O-Old and frail?! Rolanda teaches Quidditch, why can't you send her?" A yell of "SEVERUS" from everyone and off he scurries while grumbling about it under his breath.
Severus being the Youngest Teacher just gives me life ok
Yeah okay Ill reblog that!
Not a scholar at first, but the guy who wrote Jaws hated that people used it to justify hating sharks so much he dedicated the rest of his life to shark research and advocacy.
The woman who popularized gender reveals wishes she hadn't, afaik.
(afaik- the woman who popularized gender reveals did so because she had a long history of miscarriages. The reveal was a celebration of the fact that one of her pregnancies had gotten far enough that there WAS a physical sex to reveal. It was never intended to be like... *gestures at modern gender reveals* all that. That same kid later came out as trans and yes, the family had a second gender reveal for that lol.)
This whole thread is so beautiful to me that I can explain it

L. David Mech, who popularised the idea that there were 'alpha' and 'beta' wolves in his 1970 book The Wolf, has spent the rest of his career trying to debunk this. (The original studies were done on captive wolves, and thus didn't simulate an accurate model of wolf pack dynamics.)
The idea that wolf packs are led by a merciless dictator, or alpha wolf, comes from old studies of captive wolves. In the wild, wolf packs a
In the wild, researchers have found that most wolf packs are simply families, led by a breeding pair, and bloody duels for supremacy are rare.
âWhat would be the value of calling a human father the alpha male?â says L. David Mech, a senior research scientist at the U.S. Geological Survey, who has studied wolf packs in the wild for decades. âHeâs just the father of the family. And thatâs exactly the way it is with wolves.â
Hot take (apparently)
I think Mothers and other childbearing parents are the most important members of our society and should be respected for what they do.
I'd like to preface the rest of this post by saying that I will use the term "Mother" because that is the most common title for parents who birth and raise children, but I am speaking about parents of any gender that do so, including the parents who raise children they did not conceive themselves.
This is also not to invalidate the fact that there are definitely people who do not deserve to be parents and should not be.
-
The way that this society treats Mothers is absolutely disgusting, I will never understand how you can disrespect people like that, knowing that you exist because of them.
Believing that being a parent is not as important as having a career is misogynistic and just plain wrong.
When someone says that being a stay at home parent is wrong or patriarcal, I genuinely want to throttle them. Some people WANT to be around to raise their children, it is an incredibly important job and takes so much time, energy, resources, patience, studying, and skill to raise someone well. The fact that this society expects people to raise children and work full time without support is horrendous, it makes it so much harder for people to spend the time they should with their children.
This is NOT to say that you are a bad parent if you work! Or that you shouldn't be allowed to have a career or anything like that! Capitalism just makes it impossible to raise children, because of how much energy and time it takes to simply support yourself let alone make the times and space to spend with your kids.
The way people treat Mothers in public is also fucking awful, it makes me SO mad when someone says some bullshit like "children shouldn't be allowed in public" or being angry when a baby cries or a kid does something childish. THEY. ARE. CHILDREN. and they have as much a right to be places as you do! Excluding children is excluding mothers and that is so sexist it's crazy!
The hate towards women who breastfeed in public is also insane because wtf do you mean it's inappropriate to FEED YOUR BABY????? What are you cunts on???
Mothers deserve our support as a society, if you do not have your own children (or if you do) it is your responsibility to protect mothers and their children, no matter what gender you are. Children are our future and yes they can be little assholes but they are LEARNING a child does not pop out of the womb fully realized and treating children like little adults and holding them to that standard is so horrendous! No they cannot self regulate without being taught, no they cannot understand complex things and unstated social cues and boundaries, no they cannot be silent and still when YOU want them to, they are not pets to be trained or objects you can turn on and off at your convenience.
Children are the most endangered members of our society and deserve our love and protection! AND SO DO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE RAISING THEM. The effects of pregnancy on the body and brain are astounding and mothers deserve so much grace for what they went through to bring all of us into the world. Making fun or saying child birth is "disgusting" or "body horror" is a terrible thing to say to someone going through something so important and difficult, you need to keep your fucking opinions to yourself.
Also invalidating the pain of women who lose their children, are unable to carry, or go through an abortion is so disgusting and I genuinely hate you for that.
It takes a village and YOU ARE THE VILLAGE! So stop shitting on parents and do your part!
Everyone has their own aspirations in life, just because you personally don't want or like children does not give you the right to disregard and disrespect those who do. It is misogynistic to diss mothers (especially stay at home mothers)
It is SO fucked up and elitist to tell people that they should not have children if they are poor, or that it's wrong to bring children into the world because of the state of it. THE WORLD HAS ALWAYS AND WILL ALWAYS BE DANGEROUS! Mothers are raising our future, put some godamn respect on that title.
"Well sir, you are still horribly young."
"Horribly?"
"Are you not?"
"I don't believe I have ever heard someone use those words, 'horribly young', outside of deeply tragic circumstances."
"As far as I am concerned, sir, merely being that young is a deeply tragic circumstance. I remember being twenty. It was fucking appalling."
No, no it isnât.
this gif is perfectly timed because it gives you enough time to read it, comprehend it, and still have this too-long-for-comfort moment of suspense before being punched square in the solar plexus
